I wonder how closely the maps will match, if I'll be able to find my way around, maybe go by Carl Johnson's house.
That looks fantastic. I was pretty "meh" on this last one but the trailer has gotten me pretty stoked for GTA again. I hear there's still no release date set? Sad smiley face
I like the art style on the characters, that shot of them in front of the mountain almost looks like GTA painted style artwork. It will be interesting to see how closely this San Andreas matches up to the previous one, I hope it keeps the same layout, although Liberty City didn't...
Well, Rockstar doesn't like to compete against themselves, so since Max Payne 3 is due out in March of 2012, I'd rule out anything within 6 months of that... and Ive never seen a fall game from Rockstar. I say spring of 2013.
^San Andreas was released October 2004, and GTA IV was supposed to be released October 2007 but got pushed back to April 2008. Also the trailer for GTA IV was released March 2007, which was 7 months prior to the game's initially scheduled release date. Rockstar has been hinting that it will be released next year, which based on precedent seems to be plausible. 7 months from now is May 2012, giving Max Payne 2 months.
The trailer looks quality, but how much of it is gameplay and how much is just the video story aspects?
I'd like to see a 2012 release, but I don't see them giving Max Payne only 2 months before GTA V. If that were the case most gamers would skip Max Payne and go for GTA. I know i would. I say October 2012 at the earliest, but most likely Spring 2013. They gave GTA IV a year on the market, then Red Dead Redemption got a year, now it will be close to a year after La Noire before Max Payne 3. If Max Payne is delayed at all, forget about it.
I have no intention of buying Max Payne 2, they'd get my money quicker if they released GTA V sooner.
It looks to be more fun then GTAIV... Nico was a bit of a downer... They might have identified the guy doing the voice-over in the trailer... http://www.imdb.com/video/demo_reel/vi174889497/
Gang systems aren't really unique to San Andreas, but yes SR2 was a lot like GTA:SA in a lot of ways which was why I liked it and recommended it. Also, it improved upon a lot of things (though still did have several technical glitches like disappearing pedestrians and cars)
Ah well, later this week i'll be picking up SR3 anyway... I can't wait to try out the "Awesome" button... [YT="Awesome"]jXUBf6gBeQQ[/YT]
Watched the Bonus Round portion of Game Trailers TV on Spike. Michael Pachter who is the video games analyst for Wedbush Securities seems to think that we'll see GTA V in 2012. http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/bonusround/510?ch=2
Also, I've just been made aware that less than 70% of the people who bought GTA IV finished it. That is staggering. Just wondering... did any of the WF's who did not finish GTA IV at least get to the bank robbery mission? That's where the game sort of took off for me.
I didn't finish it, and that doesn't sound familiar. In fact, I don't really remember where I left off.
With the Irish family right?!? I think i stopped after that since i failed that mission a lot of times...
Oh, wait. Yeah. I did that. I'm pretty far past it, actually. Most of the Irish family is dead, but I'm still dating the sister. The other girlfriend of course turned out to be an FBI agent or something, haven't seen her since. I may actually be closer to the end of that game than I realized. They make it hard to track by setting all those useless "collect xx number of xx" goals and including them in the completion percentage.
I quit GTA IV after about an hour of gameplay, I hated it that much. Should have asked for a refund (like that would happen anyway!)
I think the game piqued with that mission. I completed the game, but a lot of my friends gave up on it soon after that. I remember missions getting pretty dull/repetitive during the last 1/3rd or so.
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/...-39-s-delay-means-for-gta-v-39-s-release.aspx Max Payne delayed until May 2012.... This does not bode well for a 2012 release of GTA V. Rockstar loves May. They have done fall releases in the past, but this would put GTA up against not only MP3, but fellow Take Two published Bioshock Infinite as well.
Guess I should finish GTA IV before this comes out. Not really enjoying it, mind you, but I'd like to see how it ends.
