Can you really re-read your own book and enjoy it? Usually, by the time I'm done with revisions and edits, I'm frankly sick of my stories. Kudos if you can, I just can't grasp it.
It didn't "read", it cuz I know it by heart, but I skimmed through to check printing quality, and such. And, it's gold, baby. And...I don't get "sick", of Harry, he's always funny.
I've just been kinda dipping in at random. Maybe I'll post some thoughts on individual stories in a bit, but I've enjoyed it very much. Of course, "Breeding Baboons" is my all-time favorite. There was another one I read the other night--I forgot the title--that had me laughing very hard. It was the short one where one of Harry's pals (I think it was Spruce) gets shot, Harry trains to be a ninja, and then heads out to fight crime with predictably bad (but hilarious) results. That was a great bit of irony.
Like Paladin, I've only read a few stories here and there. Haven't had the opportunity to really give it a thorough read. I did like the sneeze helmet. Very gross.
Kindle edition!! Kindle edition!!!! http://dickynoo.blogspot.com/2012/08/harry-hembock-classics-kindle-book.html
You've really got a talent for drawing facial expressions. And I think the writers of "The Dark Knight" stole the Batpod-out-of-the-Batmobile idea from "Harry Hembock: The Beginning," right down to the self-destruct.
