Well...*deep breath*...here we go.... http://dickynoo.blogspot.com/2012/06/harry-hembock-classics-book.html
Nice, nice. Just don't neglect to market the shit out of it, and not just here. Eh, but before you do that, check with other people who are better at marketing the shit out of things than I am.
Interesting that it's "CreateSpace, an Amazon company," but I had to create an account seperate from my normal Amazon account.
That's the price they picked. I've looked around, and it's generally the going rate for a graphic novel.
I tried to do Ebook, but Amazon's damned file converter turned it to digital confetti for some reason.
I don't do graphic novels, so I guess I'm a little relieved that I won't have that problem. Still, it would be frustrating. How much of that $19.95 do you get, anyway?
4 and some change. Literally a nickel and a penny through Amazon. (S'why I said don't even get me started ) So...I'm not linking that page. Isn't up yet, anyway.
Doug Bradley who plays Pinhead in Hellraiser puts out a series of CDs through Createspace, and he bitched in a podcast about how Amazon assfucks ya if the order goes through them. So...it's interesting to be in the same boat as Pinhead.
Um, I assume pretty much like any online store, you put one in your cart, and fill out all the necessary rigamarole.... Link again for easier access.
It's not an Ebook, it's real. Yes, 19.95 for an ebook would be crazy... I am still working on getting an ebook working though.
Yikes! That's some serious skimming. I've had a couple of short things on KDP and they didn't take that much from me. IIRC, my royalties were 35% on foreign sales, 70% of domestic. So either you published on them a long time before I did and they bumped royalties way up between your attempt and mine, or it's the other way around and they knocked royalties way down between my attempt and yours.
No, if it's directly KDP, you're fine, but, somehow the skim happens in the transport over from Createspace to Amazon. They've got the Amazon name slapped on, but they're a separate enough company you have to log in with a different account, and the skim-off happens. It's...odd...
That is odd. But it's sort of a relief, at least to me, personally. Most of what I intend to put out will be ebook only. I might consider kicking something over to CS after money starts rolling in from the ebook edition.
My original plan was KDP, then CS, but...I'm having a bitch of a time figuring out how to get graphic novels to convert properly, so.... Oh well, its what I ultimately wanted, just the order is rearranged.
There, it exists now. A preview. http://dickynoo.blogspot.com/2012/06/my-first-satisfied-customer.html
