I saw only ONE episode of LOST. A rerun on the Sci-Fi Channel about a year ago. It wasn't half-bad. I've just never gotten into it. How does the series stack up as a whole? Isn't LOST basically a serious non-camp version of GILLIGAN's ISLAND?
To ME, it's basically a show that sets you up for at least one good WTF moment every episode. And it does that well. On the other hand, don't expect satisfying answers to the millions of questions that are brought up. Your mileage may vary, of course.
I'll be watching, but I can't forgive them killing Juliette, and I know they can never wrap everything up to my compete satisfaction.
Hell, I'm still pissed they brought the mind-numbingly beautiful Cinthia Watros onto the show only to kill her off in, what, 5 episodes. Come ON! And the offhanded way they killed Delenn and her daughter also pissed me off. A LOT about the show pisses me off. But a lot still holds my interest. I feel like a yoyo!
Keep in mind, though, that according to Daniel Faraday's theory, exploding the nuke on the island may reverse EVERYTHING that's happened so far. That means that Libby, Charlotte, and Juliette could end up alive, along with anyone else who's died previously in the series! Yes, even Boone and Shannon, Eko and Ana Lucia. And those two con artists who were apparently buried alive and whose names I've forgotten. It's all fair game! Of course, it obviously can't be a FULL reset button for the series, because then they'd just show Oceanic flight #815 landing at LAX and that'd be the end of the series. (Boy, wouldn't THAT be a mindfuck!!!) But I wouldn't be surprised to see Juliette come back, or maybe Daniel and his true love Charlotte. Definitely Sayid (or was he not quite dead yet when the bomb went off). Actually, if they don't bring back Juliette, I'll be pissed. Of course, I'll also be pissed if they do anything to fuck up Desmond & Penny's happy ending, too. Oh, and Forbin...while I like Cynthia Watros as much as any red-blooded American male, she looks much better all cleaned up, and this series is much more suited towards having its characters all sweaty, grimy, and bloodied.
I don't think there will be any reset button. I think everything will unfold exactly as it did in the known timeline. We'll probably see everyone-living or dead-in some flashbacks, but if I had to guess I'd say whatever members of the main cast survived "the incident" will end up having some part in setting the conditions on the island exactly as they found them when they first arrived.
Dude, it was a fucking H-bomb warhead/core/thingie! No friggin' way they could've gotten far enough away to not be toast. I expect some sort of partial reset, with some (of course) unexpected side-effects.
If I recall correctly, it was a small fission device used to detonate the H-bomb, and it went off at the bottom of a pretty deep hole in the ground. For all we know, it will interact with the....unique....EM properties of the island by displacing them somewhere in time and/or space.
I am still mourning Juliette. And am I the only one who didn't know Alex was also Cynthia on Malcolm in the Middle??
I don't know if i should post this or not.... I won't call this a spoiler since I can't confirm it.... but according to one interpretation of a QandA from someone who saw the season premier.... The bomb didn't go off. Crazy I know. I don't think the Q&A was truthful as it was mixed with another question. I know that was a bomb sound at the end of the finale. I don't know how they could back track that. Also... I read certain other things... that well.... makes it seem pretty clear that the bomb did go off. So in short, I have no idea.
Well what? it's on me? Alright, fine. I was confused (as i was intended to be) on one major point but have a working theory, but on the other major point: Hell yeah. Loved it! If you never was much impressed with Lost, you won't be now. but the reveal concerning "Locke" gives me a lot of hope that they DO in fact know where they are going for a conclusion and will end on something other than a "WTF?" note.
Interesting seeing what would have happened if they'd landed safely. Oh wait - Juliette must still be alive in that reality- since the island blew up, she was never recruited for Darma/whatever.
I think FLocke was explaining why he chose Locke. Locke didn't want to leave right from the very beginning. Rose, on the other hand, came to that realization much later - ie: after she figured out her cancer was gone, after she was reunited with her husband.
right. No one necessarily stays dead on this show. Eko, Anna Lucia, the redhead who's name I can't remember....any of them could turn up if the alternate goes on the whole season. I'm still not convinced that the Island Juliette won't turn up at some point.
Well, if Sayid resurrected, why not her? Of course, he was in the magic fountain, while she's under a dirtpile.
And my home PC monitor is the 50" projection screen I use for my HT setup. Isn't technology wonderful? I had the wrong channel set to record, apparently. Anyway, now that I've seen it: [spoilers] Parallel timelines. Nifty. Once again smitten by a dying Juliette. [/spoilers]
