The Old Testament is like the Neutral Zone in Trek. Technically, you're never supposed to go near the place, but everyone fucking does.
I believe in it as telling the story of the fall of man and Gods efforts to restore man to the state of before the fall and prepare the way for the coming of Jesus through his chosen people, the Jews. I do not believe the law as given (to the Jews by the way) in the OT is binding upon Christians.
If you had stopped there, it would have been golden. You almost had it. Your fingers brushed right up against it. Why would anything fall in an intelligently designed universe? Unless God has a kink for dominos? Why would this require effort? He's omnipotent. Just do it.
Free will! You gotta admit, whoever wrote the Bible has got it all covered. An excuse at every turn....
Not so simple. Man has to want to be restored to that state. To do it simply with raw power would take the choice away from humans.
You know, it occurs to me, I bet somewhere, some splinter sect had a morally kind and logically consistent draft of the Bible, and Dayton's ancestors up and murdered those people, and burned their book.
You know damned well she posted for her father while he was in the hospital. No more talking about his daughter. The admins up top can reverse that, but for the moment it stands.
She was never a member. She posted under her father's account, which was allowed in this case due to the circumstances. In other words, she never joined the board, and never agreed to the rules.
Rule or no rule, Dayton's daughter is neither ugly nor deserving of ridicule or mockery here simply because of her father's questionable opinions. No shades of grey on this one, it was just an arseholish cheap shot and you know it.
But him talking about members of my family who have never posted here is a-OK? Got it. I thought this was a thicker skinned forum, but everyone seems walk on egg shells around Dayton.
It's tasteless and numerous posters have done it (Black Dove immediately comes to mind for doing the same thing regarding Mewa's daughter) but if the family members haven't posted here, they aren't subjected to it like Dayton's daughter would be if she logged in again using her father's account.
Just a reminder, before you get high and mighty over this, that a few weeks ago you referred to my parents as losers.
So again...the old rule was if they posted here, they were fair game in the Red Room. The Dayton rule is that if they post in the future, then they're fair game? So my comment will be OK if she ever posts here again?
