How do you feel about Dayton being banned?

Are you all emotional or are you numb to the pain.

I feel bad for him but he does it to himself. How many times has he gone through the same game of making vailed threats? Everyone makes mistakes but most people generally don't keep making the same one over and over.

I fuck up all the time but am halfway decent at not doing the same fuck ups over and over.

Naw, just let him cool his heels for a while and hopefully even he might learn not to repeat his poor behavior. Even a dog can be trained with consistent reward and punishment so it should work with Dayton too.

Why on Earth would you ban Dayton? He provides or causes about half the content. It's like a bunch of Algerians burying a source of water because they think pigs tainted it. Also, he's a pretty normal American with pretty normal views and a pretty normal job. No wonder you react to him like holy water to a vampire.

It is good for mods of a board to give people a cool off period. The board has to be worried about threats from a legal standpoint being the venue that allows them. I have not really seen dayton issue a threat, but I do not read everything. He was getting hot, and ther whole i wanti to come to your house to have you say it in person is intimidation to some who might not be aware that it almost never is followed up upon because by the time the person spent all that money and traveled there they would be calm. If that sort of BS is what dayton is doing because he cannot handle an argument then it is time for the pool, and I am cool with that. Seriously when I was butthurt sensitive due to other reasons a few days ago I asked for my own banning. Seeing all the dumbshit insults would only serve to make the anger worse, and if one had abilities it makes a good road block to make the troll work harder. Therefore the troll attacker expends energy while not fuelling on reactionary rage which is a good method for cooling a person off despite the initial flare up that will happen when they see their banning.

I did not see much of dayton doing anything other than being dayton, but the mods know what they saw and I trust the banning was for cause and not spiteful. Dayton is clearly taunting people for RL info just by using his real name. Some boards ban real names just because of that.

I have to agree completely with this statement, and yes i am quite aware that I have stalked before. It was bad for the board, the users, and even for myself to an extent to do so. I have lost some accounts and virtual coinage in different places due to my actions.

The board is not Dayton's playpen. If you were to allow him to influence the board like that he would recognize it and become worse, and then others would compete and you would promote low end conversation.

Is Dayton banned? What the fuck did he do? And please don't let it be something lame like the excuses for Castle's bans.

Basically he wants to win debates via intimidation, or people to simply accept and agree with his opinions. This is not the board for that. He was also going off the deep end more than a little.
So yeah, you can argue the toss about it being justified or not, but you can't argue it was needed.

He made vaguely threatening statements to no one in particular. If he did specifically threaten someone, I didn't see it.

Based on this deeply disturbing turn of events, I feel that in order to restore balance to The Forge we need to bring in Castle to fill in for Dayton while he is away. The human car crash factor needs to be maintained.
