Are you upset that someone else got banned for trolling in the HD and you didn't?

I'm more concerned for @El Chup since he's probably dying to come back here. I wonder how sane he'll be after three weeks of withdrawal. His butt buddy @Dayton3 may want to drop him a line.

He flamed outside of the red room and kept doing it despite warnings. I made the mistake of not watching where I was a few days back and the mods warned me and gave me a chance. I assume if I keep flaming outside the red room because of my own idiocy or lack of control I will get a vacation aka a harder kick in the ass. Looking at what dinner said and where he said it he should have known better and was given warning to cool his jets. He laid a flat out nasty personal insult into what was a moderated discussion where he was allowed to make his point without the insult. If I called dinner a racist fuckwad in the helpdesk and continued to do so after being warned I would expect a temp ban to come my way.

In the end I see what was said and I do not fear the mods being out of control because I would say that in the helpdesk. It does not belong there, and it is what the rules are for. Hopefully dinner will see he was out of line and he has a place to make those statements but the helpdesk and other moderated forums are not those places, and that is for reasons I think we all can agree on.

Even I would not mind seeing chup come back. If he is serious about this place being nsfw in his field he is best to evaluate that, and I could see where an employer may not appreciate some of the discussion going on here. That is one of those choices we have to make for ourselves. There are plenty of strictly moderated safe for work boards out there, so I do not think any board needs to change their policies to adapt to the level that chup's employers are worried about. Yes I have had my career destroyed because of my off time activities, and I would lay the blame at the feet of his employers in this case. I cannot change their minds and chup has to make a decision based on his life and potential dangers to his position this place brings. It sucks, and if that is truly the reason I feel bad for him, but I also see this is just a discussion board and is no reason to risk your employment or economic position. One of the reasons I sacrifice a career I could easily have is because I will not put myself in such a position, and because of that I will not see the material and social rewards chup values and gets. It is life and we have to make choices.

Watching him cry about it to Volpone and LegionofSaintEvilCastleJohn at TK is beyond priceless.

Except that Chup works for himself and that at the height of the "Chup's ex is a terrorist and he's a muzzie sympathizer" trolling last decade, the laws regarding hate speech in the U.K. were the same as they are now. He didn't leave back then.

That is his business and excuse. I really do not care enough about who chup is to verify his claims. If he does not actually have concern for being fired then it is his own fault and he is doing more harm to himself than anyone around here should be able to do. Then again it might just be time for him to be elsewhere for a while. If what you are saying is true he probably took this place way too seriously and it would be good for him to be away and do different things for a while. At least he isn't hanging out over at tk in self imposed isolation like some others. If he ever does come back I hope he has a bit more confidence in his own identity and does not rely so much on how others see him.
