By sitting in the Oval Office, doors locked, and letting other people do the work. Which, incidentally, is how I picture this incompetent imbecile doing it anyway. I wonder if he has any idea what he's in for. But hey, after all he'll have Putin whispering in his ear anyway, so Добро пожаловать в новой России, товарищи.

The only real danger from Trump will come once the angry white mob realizes how he's betrayed them and nothing will become 'great again' for them if they don't take matters into their own hands. That is, by getting an education. Not buying more guns. Just to be clear.

Now let's all hope these will be calm four years. I don't want to know what he does under real pressure, say, if a 9/11 type event happens.

I really never thought I'd wish for George W. to make a comeback.

    That's your major disconnect, bub.

The Americans who want a shot of again taking pride in the exceptional opportunities available only in America (or possibly to lesser extent in Canada or Australia) really don't give a fuck about whether the "whole world" likes us or thinks us great, or holds us in awe.

We're not embarrassed when proud, and don't think we have all that much for which we must apologize (unlike the you and Barry types who seem to feel o/w).

    One could hope.

But then, that "one" would have to care, which is the whole point- one doesn't. Look within.

It's admittedly anecdotal, but my experience in covering violent crime for nearly thirty years has shown me that the overwheming majority of it occurs between people who know each other. It's not even close.

I don't know - where's all that hope and change I was promised 8 years ago?

They're just re-purposing the FEMA concentration camps. ;)

Given how well the US got over the biggest financial crisis in almost a century I'd say there is your hope. You guys did it better than any other affected western nation. The debt, you say? Meaningless.

Change? Change is slow. But it does take place and it's painful. So painful that you guys just voted for a screaming yellow haired orange clown. I'm sure he will give you lots of snake oil and shiny things to make it all look easy and painless and entirely possible by using ideas that went out of fashion 50 years ago. Enjoy!

Trump lost the popular vote because Obama let millions of illegal aliens go to the polls.

:rotfl: Trump was the candidate of fear? Half these heart-broken democrats are in the fetal position pissing themselves because big, bad Trump is going to throw them into a camp because they are gay, black, female, liberal, muslim, etc. And now thousands of these fuckers are protesting and Trump isn't even in charge yet! God what a collection of pussy shit bags - they are really showing their true colors now - I fucking love it!

    Although they actually didn't.

But I'm not sure that a mandate really makes that much of a difference in practical terms. I suppose if you won in a landslide but had an opposition Congress, you might be able to use that margin to make some members fear for their re-election, but ... doubtful, considering how few districts aren't safe.

My prediction is he will be Carter 2. Like Carter he has a house and senate from his own party and since he is an outsider they will thwart everything he tries to do and run one candidate against him in 2020.

Yes, he does a great mocking of trump. We do get to look forward to a whole lot of trump humor. He will be a fountain of jokes and memes.

Hmmmm, undocumented immigrants will find their home countries to seem better and perhaps their return will improve their nations through ideas and effort to make them better instead of running away. I don't know, I am grasping here

Trump/Pence will try their damndest to make us a banana republic but we ain't one yet.

There's a reason why that lunatic Duente won in the Philippines by promising swift punishments against the drug users and drug lords there. In spite of being one of the few world leaders more batshit than Kim Jong Un, he's got massive support there.

Naw...if anything a few more will decide to take the extra few days to get into Canada. As well they should. Their dollar goes much further than ours in TJ.

Oh, poor anna, why not join Cher when she moves to Jupiter?

The mean side of me the next few days will find leftie discontent only slightly less amusing than my relief that Hillary won't be picking the next justice(s).

And close behind them, my curiosity at how leftforge will cope without the white house?

I think Trump will work out great. He's a blank slate - he's not a hard-core republican nor democrat. Maybe he will get good ideas from anybody/everybody and say "let's do that" without concern over where the ideas come from. He actually has no motivation to further his political career - he just bypassed all of it and went right to the top, owing nobody any favors along the way. It's something to consider that's for sure.

They are quite literally blind to the liberal fear mongering we've heard for several decades from left - the rich are out to get you, and more recently, Donald is going to rape you; the left's message repeated for so long they're oblivious to it - anti-capitalism, social justice, anti-globalization, and more recently under Obama a strong hint of anti-Americanism and shame at our productivity and wealth.

Ironically, I predict that Obama will deserve credit for Trump's greatest success. Technically the US economy came out of its recession June-ish, 2009. But because businesses have been fearful of legislation, our energy policy has been abysmal, and a corrupt executive branch has put growth on the sidelines, the American economy is poised to take off like a musclecar that is doing a brake-stand at the red light. I mean, Obama has not managed 3% growth in the US economy in his entire two terms. A blind, retarded chimpanzee could get the US economy to grow at 3% just by staying out of the way. Having someone who actually knows how to run a business sitting in the Oval Office, paired with years of economic stagnation is a recipe for explosive economic growth.
    :volpone:

My buddy and I are already planning to open a couple of new stores in the next two years with the 'Trump windfall.' That means around 40 new jobs a year for the next two years, if we can pull it off.

Yay to no-more-Obama, which as you pointed out makes us all the real winner: America. We didn't need Trump specifically, just anyone not-a-leftie to grab that low hanging fruit of pent up demand and prosperity that Obama has suppressed - in his efforts to shrink the wealth gap he really tried his best to make everyone poorer. A worthy end, sure, but fueled by the most distasteful of means.

So, two pages in and there's a lot of blathering about he's gonna make USA great again (again?), but still not a word on the actual plans or intentions.

Well, Zombie's hoping for concentration camps, which I suppose would be a bump due to seniority for those employed in privatized prisons...

Of course his plans include concentration camps - because liberals have the attention span of a gnat. Someone has to teach them how to focus.
