    13. Checking the list, I think only 3 of them are still active. If someone pisses me off, I put him on ignore for a while. If there's an interesting thread and it appears an intelligent post was made, I take them off again. I think only JohnM will never get off the list.
I don't think I've added anyone for a couple of months, ignoring their posts is just as easy. As for skimming - these days, I skim almost all red room threads I open.

I don't read anyone's posts but my own, so, you know...

I had a few people on ignore, at first.

But I decided I rather didn't like it. It's easier to just skim over a post.

Like Excelsius. It's real easy to just skim the jibba-jabba he posts.

Which explains why it seems to me you don't understand them.

In like manner, however, I skimmed -- and actually skipped any research on -- the recent reference you made, since it couldn't possibly have served the purpose you intended.

    I've had anywhere from 0 to 6.

But then I realized I didn't like the ignore function because even complete jackasses say funny things once in a while.

So now there's 1 person who doesn't even post here any more.

I've never been even slightly tempted to use the ignore function. Reading mindless drivel is half the fun of this place anyway. I find some posters to be consistently annoying and/or stupid but even they have occasionally had posts worthy of rep.

I think I briefly had Assvir on ignore several years ago, but took him off so I could watch him squirm as others regularly pummeled his worthless ass.

Since then, nobody's on it though, like Elwood, I do skip past posts by a few people here.

I've never put anyone on my ignore list. But like Asyncritus, there are some people's posts I rarely bother to read.

Wait a minute....there's an actual ignore function? I thought all this "ignore list" stuff was, y'know, like Nixon's "enemies" list, just people I ignore. :clyde:

As of this post, an overwhelming 90% ("!") of respondents claim to have nobody on their ignore list.

I am on the ignore list of a number of posters who seem to know the content of my posts intimately.

Same here. Unlike some posters I don't skim or ignore posts. I read everyone of them. Even the biggest of fools gets somethings right or funny.

    Only pussies use ignore.

Only bigger pussies claim to not use the ignore function but still skim or ignore posts anyway.

Nobody. What's the point? If I don't wish to converse, I direct them to my favorite smiley, :muad2: which gets the point across succinctly and accurately, and move on.
