Fuck anonymity. I'm getting a little tired of how childish WF is becoming. "Ignore lists" are part of that.

I've never had anyone on mine, and never will.

Depends on what you mean by "ignore list." I don't have anyone "on ignore" but there are a fair number of posters whose existence I ignore 99% of the time. I don't respond to them, hardly read what they say, and do not think it worthwhile to discuss with them.

It fluctuates so widely that on any given day my answer could be any of the poll options. And even when there are a lot of people on my ignore list I make liberal use of the "view post" option in threads that look like they have promise.

None. Never had anyone blocked. I reserve the right to use the tool as I see fit, though.

I've had JohnM on ignore for a while, mainly because I surf at work & don't want someone coming up behind me & seeing "NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER!" on my screen.

No one is on my ignore list, and it's not because I somehow feel superior to those who do use the feature. It's because y'all can't ignore me by virtue of being an admin, so I shouldn't ignore y'all.

However, with that said, in The Red Room, there are several people who's posts I just skim over without reading.

Men with ignore lists grow milk spraying breasts.

Women, the opposite effect, they lose a cup size, and give powdered milk.

    Scientifically proven fact.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Had one person on it--don't think he's even around here anymore. Now it's empty.

I don't use ignore. I just paint white-out on the screen over posters I don't like.

No one. Once or twice I put a person (only one comes to mind) on the list, but after a day or so, I found I just didn't care about reading the posts so I undid it.

My mental ignore works well enough that I don't need to physically put someone on ignore. Having said that however, I realize that some people just cannot stand some other people, and if putting the other one on ignore makes their online surfing easier and more fun, why power to them and I certainly don't look down on them. In fact, I really don't care one way or the other if someone uses (or doesn't use) ignore. That's their business.

The funny thing is, putting someone on your "ignore list" is exactly the fucking same as simply ignoring them. The only difference is that it's slightly easier. So, if certain individuals were to be consistent, they would have to admit that, by extension, refusing to read someone's post by either method would have to make you a pussy.

The mentality kind of falls apart when you actually try to think about it.

    What Elwood said.
Before I was ever a mod, I never dreamt of using ignore. Wouldn't now, even if I could.
Doesn't mean I don't skim over certain posts... :garamet:
