Obviously, a critical question to ask. How often? Personally, I try for at *least* once a day. Today, I have masturbated. I intend to masturbate once more before I retire to bed. Also, does being/not being in a relationship influence your masturbation habits? Finally, what is: a) The longest you've gone without masturbating in your adulthood? (Me? Seven days). b) The most times you've masturbated in a 24 hour period? (For me, five). c) How far in advance do you plan masturbating? (You wake up in the morning and the house is crowded. "Hmmm" you think, "They all ought to be gone in five hours. I'll have a wank then.")
I'm currently taking a medication that has a side effect of greatly diminishing that certain drive. So lately I can go days to weeks without really thinking about it too much. It really doesn't bother me that much as I think it's vastly over-rated to begin with.
In high school: Three times a day. These days: only when the wife is, um, unavailable one week per month.
SSRIs!? Only asking because I've been on them - am back on them now actually - and they fuck up your sex life. Thought some SSRi not as much as others - and it's different for each individual. The sex drive thing does indeed get diminished, but it will come back in time. (Hell, sometimes it's NICE for the break form not being a horny fuck all the time!) But they make it harder to get hard and stay hard, but a little purple pill will fix that. The thing is, that little purple pill fucking costs a bunch. (But I heard a generic is due out soon - finally.) My boy saw a child psych once that joked that "Phizer makes Viagra. Phizer makes Zolof. Most who are on Zoloft, are on Viagra. Phizer should just combine them into one pill. Call it 'Zoagra'". (The psych was telling me that he gets a lot of teen patients, and they often have problems with their SSRIs that they *can't* always mention to their parents, or may be too embarrassed to - in fact, he says some very conservatiive parents *like* how is diminishes sex drive and function - and he really can't often talk about that with every teen, for fear of getting bitched at or sued or whatever- so he has a rule, he tells teens that "If this particular SSRI cause ANY problems you don't like - *wink*, *nudge* - I will switch you to another SSRI no questions asked.") The big problem is that for men and women alike, they make it difficult to orgasm. (Women who have difficulty orgasming, are prpbably just *more* out of luck.) That can be not so bad actually if you are a man on a relatively short fuse I guess, but when you first go on them it might be *impossible* to come sometimes. At all. And another problem with SSRI's is that the longer you are on them, the more your body learns to compensate for this - becomes more sensitive. So if you quit the SSRI, you *are* gonna be on a VERY short fuse for a while after that.
The problem I had with the SSRI was that I felt the need to do it, but it provided no real pleasure. Were I doing anything other than masturbating at the time, it would have really been shit. The not-being-too-depressed bit was nice, though. Also, is this going to turn into Wordforge's version of the famous "Masturbation??" thread from TBBS? Let's go for it guys - this can be the longest thread on the board!
I'd have gone with paraphrasing the famous line about gun ownership: "As often as I need, but not as often as I want."
Yeah, that's true...it's like you still want to, but you don't really get much out of it. Sux. But then again for me, this isn't such a big deal anymore.
Two four six eight, show us how you masturbate! Three five seven nine, we know you do it all the time! One two three four, dance you little fucking whore! Eat your heart out Ann Miller! Eat yourself out Ann Miller! Eat me out Ann Miller! Who the fuck is Ann Miller?! This Rocky Horror callback brought to you by the numbers twelve and forty-four, and the letters "A" and "M"
I don't usually have to hold out more than a day or two for the real thing, so I try to save myself for that, but I've never let myself go so long that I had a "nocturnal emission."
One of the great film dance queens of the 40's. She was best known for her phenomenal ability at tap dancing.
