^^I think this both demonstrates why we need a games forum, and why it needs slightly more lenient rules than Media Central.

At least they were something worth playing in the first place.

I'm in full support because I want to see if there is some high ground all these frothing fanboys can reach and meet peaceably. If not and after trying really hard to work toward the prior statement I will most likely take advantage of the lenient rules therein and spout of nonsensical insults because you don't agree with me about the games I play.

I am all for it and I am totally backing it being called Press Start. (That would be the first "fuck you" to the computer elitists.)

Really, I could like it either way. The thing you guys should note when deciding the rules of it, is there ARE people out there who almost view it as an insult to their religion if you say anything bad about their favorite system (as evidenced by some people always trying to bring up the PS3 whenever I say anything bad about their Xbox2.). And if you guys really do want to have the same rules as the Green Room, Media Central, etc, it may give even more headaches than it is worth.

Also, there are plenty of boards out there where you can discuss Xbox, Wii, or PS3, and any form of saying one system is "better" than the other will get you an immediate ban for trolling. A set of looser rules in this forum could be an attractive alternative to all the other uptight video game forums out there. And if we advertise this right, it could be a vehicle to attract people who are sick and tired of Nazi mods deleting their posts and banning their accounts because their post offended some wimp. And from there, they would be introduced to the other rooms.

I know Elwood has never been a fan of having Red Room rules in other forums, because not everyone wants to act like a complete douche wherever possible, and the stricter rules provides a safe haven for those people who want to have a good discussion about certain topics without having to dodge all the shit slinging that usually happens in our main forum. But you have to remember that any Xbox vs. PS discussions ARE a controversial and heated topic to certain people. The best and easiest solution would be just to make the forum with Red Room rules, but it may not be the direction the board owner wants to see this site go.

It is being debated, among other things. More posts in that thread today than there have been in the rest of the forum for a while.
