I Hate PitBulls!!!!!

Almost all the dogs I've owned in my life were bred to kill. Terriers are notorious for being strong willed, over bold, and death on anything smaller than them. As for dogs that cause the most problems, I'd take a long hard look at German Shepherds and Chow Chows.

An interesting bit of personal trivia: I am the only member of my immediate family that has never been bitten by a Cocker Spaniel. Those fuckers are all kinds of bitey.

And they smell bad.

They could just be poor and ignorant or, hell...maybe they just don't give a damn what judgemental people in the 'hood think of their property. Now, don't get me wrong...they obviously need to be more responsible with their dog. Maine has leash laws, so we don't have much of that sort of issue around here. But slandering and libelling them and making remarks like you did just makes you look and sound just like the sort of people you dislike yourself.

And...was that Dan calling for the genocide of pit bulls? I thought lefties wanted to protect the animals and their "rights"? Or is it only certain ones that fit the agenda.

Also I adhere to the "protect only cute animals" school of thought. If I think an animal is cute it can live, if I don't I'm probably going to grill it for dinner.

Fuck your eye roll, you admit in your very own post that the problem is training and not the animal itself. Forget your rights for a moment as I am sure the supposed meth slingers would and assume that they trained this dog to warn of any approaching people it didn't know. You are walking by its front door, whether three feet away on the sidewalk or up on its porch. You yourself said the threshold between your personal space and the city public is a scant few inches of door so naturally the dog will protest if it seems possible you might try to come near his door. As you said though, that is all just bad training.

Correct you are, they are canines and we are homo sapiens. The equivelancy you are missing is that you are deciding that one particular breed is deserving based on aesthetics and your preconceived notions about it, which is completely the same as if I were to say that I thought black people need to be seperated from our mainstream culture because I find them unappealing and think that they are prone to commiting crimes.

Except no study has shown humans to have the genetic memory that dogs are equiped with. Certain dogs are bred for certain behaviours. Just like a good pointer doesn't need to be trained how to point, a violent fighting dog doesn't have to be trained to be a violent killer. It's already locked within it's head.

So disliking a particular breed of dog is the same thing as being racist?

Our dog should naturally jump in water every chance she gets, but it seems the only thing she does innately is jump on me when I'm sleeping, chew remote controls and shit as close as she can to our neighbor's window.

I'm fairly sure that that's not even remotely similar to what Anc's talking about. I could be wrong, but if there's a court precedent saying that blacks are genetically pre-disposed to looting, rioting, and murdering, I would be very suprised.

If you own an animal capable of mortally wounding humans, you should be required to take whatever measures are necessary to completely protect others from it, and severely punished for failing to do so. I'm talking thousand dollar fines any time it's found running loose outside of a fence and off the leash. And if it gets loose and kills someone, you should be guilty of something like negligent homicide at the minimum and sent to fucking prison for a decade or two.

My dad's cousin had a goose that hated blacks. White people walk past all day, but a black comes by, the goose would get aggressive. You don't want a pissed-off goose, they bite and peck at crotch level.

^ Indeed. Geese are just nasty animals, with really bad attitudes and a shit output worthy of a politician, but they're damn tasty. If they weren't good eating they'd be completely useless.

We used to have about 20 acres of front lawn at work (before we sold it for a shopping center), and certain times of the year there'd be approxinately 10 goose turds per square yard for the entire area.

They'd have to fire-hose the parking lot to get rid of the shit!
