Sometimes women date "assholes" because they don't act like assholes at first, only revealing that part of them later. Most end up leaving, but some stay because they honestly don't think they deserve any better. It's common with people whose parents emotionally neglected them as children, since their emotional needs were not met because they were forced to satisfy their parent's needs, they don't think that their needs need to be met at all. They become a target for assholes and it eventually continues to the next generation.
If ethics are going to be part of it, then you can also look at her motivations to contextualize them. Almost guaranteed if a woman is going to cheat, it's because the incumbent guy is disappointing her-or worse. Well, okay if you're gonna twist my arm. Picture it! Myrtle Beach, 1989. It was Spring Break. A bunch of young, wide eyed, wholesome fellas from a small private church school in North Carolina are enjoying the sun and sand by staying inside playing Spades and drinking wine coolers. Somebody decided we should have a party with girls for some damn fool reason, and the two best looking guys (neither one yours truly obviously) get drafted to walk up and down the strand flexing their pecks and flashing their pearly whites in order to invite comely young ladies to the timeshare. There were a few hits at first. They'd come back and say they had one or two possibles and then were sent back out to redouble their efforts... ...then they come in all walleyed and breathless. "A sorority" was all they could say. A whole damn sorority was going to be there in 15 minutes. Playing cards were put away, hair was checked, pretend ties were straightened, and everybody was looking all cool and uninterested when the ladies arrived...except for me. I was reading a comic book while still working on a two liter bottle Bartles and James. Frivolity ensued. Def Leppard was playing, people were mingling, the guys were outnumbered at least 2 to 1, and I was still into my Elf Quest picture book. Allasudden, this young lady comes up to me...ME of all people, and...my hand to God...asks me for a kiss. Just out of the blue! Well, I had a lot of coolers in me so my inhibitions were about as muted as they've ever been, and I'd recently seen Dirty Dancing, so I said, "Okay", and kissed her. By "kissed her", I don't mean a shy peck on the lips. I bent her over and made out with her good. When done, there was another young lady who said, "Me next" So after that one there was a goddamn line forming. Soon as I was done tonsil boxing one girl, she'd go back to the back of the line. There were at least a dozen of them and I must have gone through the line three times and I never even got a cold sore. As an aside, what had actually happened was the first two girls were pledges, and they were ordered to kiss the dork with the comic book drinking wine coolers as a form of hazing . Once the rest saw what ensued it got a little out of hand and they all wanted a ride. So long story short, I became an honorary guy member of Alpha Gama Delta of Westminster College PA, one of the young ladies indicated she was interested in more amorous activities...so I bid her a good night and ran away. Long story shorter, I snogged a whole sorority you fucking Trek nerd losers!

I just couldn't do it. Hey, that you can means you have far more opportunities than I do, and if you're both happy, that sounds like a hell of an arrangement. It's just my own internal ethics can't step over it, even though it significantly reduces my chances of finding a sexual partner. Most certainly, but sometimes in sex you often don't fuck a friend because the relationship changes. So if you are in the friend zone with someone you are not going to be considered as a date because they already have an attachment to you and we don't need to fuck everything we like because we are not a dog.
