Other than that, the ability to wield absolute control over an opponent is heady stuff. I'm not sure why you would want to unless you're lacking self-esteem.

Or unless, just possibly, because if (Gods forbid) you have to fire one in self-defense, you want that defense to be as effective as possible.

Now the question is, why would you not want to have as much control as possible over whether you live or die in an armed confrontation? My thinking is that it's wishing for a lack of control speaks to a deathwish, and that is what would suggest a lack of self-esteem.
