    The point is that having War and Peace or a billboard in a signature can be annoying to other people.

    In fact, your signature is a bit long, IMO.

    Taking up about half that size would be better.

    It doesn't make sense to have such a small limit. apostle's signature, while long, is still shorter on a 1024x768 screen than the poster info on the left, for instance. So it's not going to appreciably lengthen a thread.

    I don't think considering limiting a signature to four or five lines of text to be all that small.

    If someone has more to say than that, then they should start a thread and a discussion about it. Or cycle out their quotes every so often.

    Having to scroll past ten lines of shit you've already had to read a hundred times already becomes an aggravation instead of edifying in any way.
