Yup. We need commonality in such systems but we also need diversity in them. Sucks ass for everyone to have a single system that turns out to have a fatal flaw under certain circumstances. If you’ve got diversity, then you have something to fall back on while you address the issue.
One of the reasons I love the Krab, at least in concept. Diversity and yet commonality: The AHS Krab (Polish for crab) is a 155 mm NATO-compatible self-propelled tracked gun-howitzer designed in Poland by Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW), by combining the South Korean K9 Thunder chassis with a British BAE Systems AS-90M Braveheart turret with French Nexter Systems 52-calibre long gun and Polish WB Electronics' Topaz artillery fire control system. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AHS_Krab Ukraine was given 18 and has purchased and is waiting on 54 more. So we’ll see how they hold up.
Interesting thing with Elon's Starlink Proprietary bullshit. Why did TCP/IP kick the shit out of more proprietary communication protocols developed by giants like IBM, MS, and Apple? Why did AOL fail and get eaten up by the actual internet when they were so much more popular and robust in the dial up days? Because everyone could work and develop off of a universal system. I am really hoping that what happened to Ukraine with Starlink wakes up the world to the reality we cannot have Elon or anyone else able to take out satellite communication away, or hold it hostage for his own perverse benefit. One of the biggest problems the US military has come to by contracting out it's military systems is that the MIC now owns it and can cripple it with proprietary systems. Our military operates due to proprietary corporate manufacturing, which I think ends up having allowed china manufacturing to infest the US military systems. I think you are correct that the US military should have built it's own manufacturing capabilities based on universal parts that would have allowed it to control a lot of foreign sales and made it the authority over it's technology rather than corporate peoples.
Why does the shed need to be refilled though? Isn't the shed just there for the stuff that we push out of service on our own terms?
MTG heckles the president at the SOTU = Free Speech bitches! Protesters object to an MTG speech = clearly would-be anti-speech tyrants Rather like their contradictory opinions of what counts as indoctrination in Florida
Remeber, at the start of the war, the Ukrainians were raiding museums for fucking World War I era gear. That's how desperate they were for shit. As for determining what gets pushed to the shed, well, that's tricky. If you poke around here, you'll find that before the Russians invaded Ukraine (well before, like years) I was arguing that we just didn't need anything like the F-35 because the WWII idea that we had to have fighter planes to protect our bombers was basically obsolete as the odds of us going to war with an opponent who could fly a plane were pretty low. (Don't recall seeing too many Taliban fighter aces, know what I mean?) And even if, in the extremely unlikely event that we were to find ourselves in an all-out war between us and the Chinese or Russians, the stuff we're flying now is so far and away better than the stuff they've got in development, we don't really need to worry about losing the air war. I still stand by that. But for things like tanks, artillery, drones, etc., putting new designs in service on a regular schedule isn't a bad idea. After all, if you can't hold a territory, you've not really accomplished much if you've just bombed places. They're also cheaper than overly complicated aircraft that can't do what they're supposed to. The kind of war you're fighting also plays into this. When we invaded Iraq in 2002 or so, if we'd have dragged one of the old battleships back into service and sent it to hurl nearly 2,000 lb shells at the Iraqis, there was fuck all they could have done to stop it. (And the same is probably true of the Russians today, now that I think about it.) So, yeah, things still need to be pushed to the shed. Because with not too much effort, I can whip up shit like the Ukrainians are dropping on Russian tanks. No way I can easily whip up something to take out an aircraft, but when it comes to ground stuff? Oh yeah, baby, it's one. If you know what you're doing, you can fuck one up with little more than a shovel, some explosives, a fuse, a shovel, and a bunch of paper plates. (Not shit. If you've ever read the novel Footfall, they describe such a situation which was inspired by protests that were happening when the novel was written.)
Actually, if you’d been around here, you’d know that her being referred to as Sporkfoot, Margerie Three-Toes, and other related terms for quite some time now.
Which I don't understand? Has she boasted about her perfect feet and criticised those with lesser one's, making this a calling out if hypocrisy, or is this just picking on someone's perceived physical abnormality?
Near as I can tell, Massie is an iconoclast who just likes voting "no" on things. Who knows what bug flew up Marge's butt.
It's just fucking weird. And she's weird. Because not all of the odd feet pics of her have been photoshopped. It's just one of those things that happens to people where for whatever reason when there's a photograph of them, there's something odd about it. Or the reverse, like how a pet will be acting insanely cute right up to the second that your camera app on your phone is ready to capture what they're doing. And let's not kid ourselves here, she's a fucking racist who thinks white people are damned near perfect. So mocking her over her physical (and mental) appearance doesn't exactly seem out of line here. I don't recall you mentioning anything about bodyshaming when someone has posted this meme: Because that's what's going on here. We're laughing at people because they don't meet a particular social ideal of what someone should look like. Sure, you can make the argument that it's commenting on their lack of education, but ain't nobody buying that. We're all laughing at them because they don't look like a Greek statue and they're Nazis who think that they're better than everyone else. So, if we're going to do that for a bunch of yokels, why shouldn't we do that for a member of Congress who has the exact same views? You tell me.
Her feet are normal human feet. This is what happens to human feet when you ram them into too thin and small women's shoes for years and years and walk miles and miles in dressy shoes. It looks like she has had operations to straighten them, but maybe not. Your toes fold in on each other when wearing women's shoes which go to a point. Most older women would never have the courage to wear exposed toe strappy shoes because they have something called shame. I could be wrong ands maybe she was born with some foot deformity, but this is what women put themselves through for cute shoes. It looks like she had a bunion on each foot and had it repaired while leaving the pinky toe overlap alone.
https://twitter.com/MeidasTouch/status/1630763544399736832?s=20 I don't know who's worse, her or Bobo. They're both so stupid that they have to whistle while taking a shit so they'll know which end to wipe.
and projecting like a motherfucker. In the context of that statement he is talking about vetoing discriminatory and religious bills that people vote for. He is complaining about the left having the power to veto republican legislation, and we know what republican legislation is. He would never complain about Trump and the republicans having veto power. This is why he hated SCOTUS when it overturned prejudiced laws and protected the rights of minorities and women. He has no problem with SCOTUS allowing for discrimination being legal because of some made up reason like religion.
Time travel has been a favorite Republican device since the old blame-Obama-for-Bush's-economy whammy.
The loophole being, cheering from the sidelines while state goons crack open the heads of protestor you don't like doesn't count as YOU exerting control. ...except that you pay their salaries, but lalalalalaaa...
But you seem good with politicians you disavow exercising government power to make other people behave in ways you are comfortable with. Just because you aren't in the legislature and didn't vote for them doesn't mean you're raging in opposition to all exercise of government power to control people - it's fine if it's people you WANT controlled.

the problem with this bitch is that in her district, we could be stuck with her for decades. All we can do is hope that at some point she'll get arrogant enough to Michelle Bachmann herself out of relevance.
