So, who's going to play Yul Brynner's character?

7 dragged out seasons until we learn they are robots ;)

really, more material that should be a movie or miniseries. haven't seen the movie in decades but it's hard to imagine how they could come up with interesting stories for years.

Isn't this more evidence that JJ Abrams hasn't a single original thought?

I don't know, maybe a series of bottle episodes with a building arc could work.

Could take a look at the dark side of humanity and technology in each episode, and over each season move forward with an overall story.

    What overall story?

That the robots are running amok? That was getting old even in Futureworld.

If you don't adhere too closely to the original idea of the first film, there's a number of possibilities that could be opened up. Debates on if the robots are sentient, humans who prefer robots to other humans, is it legal to have a sexbot modeled after a young child, etc. Abrams is producing, but it's Nolan going to be writing and directing the pilot, so it has a chance of being very, very good.

HBO seasons tend to be shorter than network television, kind of like the British approach.

I prefer a dozen great episodes per season versus twenty-two mediocre ones.

    that'd probably fulfill the request.

I dunno if this can be any good as a series, but if it's on HBO it means there'll be robot boobs!

Fortunately that's where most series are going. 20+ is IMHO reserved for sitcoms these days. Good!

After halting production, they've resumed shooting.
I'm guessing this is the new version of Yul Brenner's character.

And I found the trailer for the original movie.

New teaser trailer just dropped. I'm thinking they're going for a Blade Runner kind of plot.

Yul Brenner can really rock a cowboy hat! The Magnificent Seven is another cowboy hat movie. BTW aren't they remaking that movie too?

Yes, they've decided to remake everything Yul Brenner did. I heard they're remaking Yul Brenner himself.

Nolan created and was the creative force behind Person of Interest.

Man can tell a deep and compelling story about shredding old phone books. I'm in.

oh my lord you might as well have just said Voyager was set on a small farm in medieval Europe for all the connection that claim has to reality.
