True. Now, if WF were a democracy...though some here obviously would prefer a dictatorship - ruled by them, of course. ;)

That's really what it's about, isn't it? If we're gonna have a dictatorship it should at least be run by our teal terror of an overlord, not the riff-raff.

It's his turn. For the next week, everything is Liet's fault. Global warming. Poverty. Baba. The whole enchilada, man.

Why? Doesn't he have the right to say anything he wants?

Who are you to tell him to shut up?

Oh right. Lietbrains must have brain-washed you.

markb is cool actually. I don't think I want to neg rep him for replying to a thread, even if I think the thread should be gone and forgotten. Same goes for Chris and a few others.

That's not the point, Scorpy. In fact, it makes it worse that there would be a 'Do Not Neg' list.

C'mon man, you have been here since the begining; did you honestly believe that this tactic was going to go over well, here, of all places? Really?

But it *is* the point. The Red Room is the fifth grade, and it's all about being popular.

No, not really. I knew there'd be a reaction, but I didn't anticipate it would be this much. It turned out waaay better than I had hoped though, as Liet got the pimp hand.

And seriously, it's just rep. No one is being censored. No one is being 'told' that they cannot post in certain threads. But there are people that disagree with posters that bump their inane shit. They disagree that it should be bumped. And they are 'disagreeing' via rep. What is wrong with that?

They are 'disagreeing' via rep to make people stop posting, to keep them from posting by the threat of a neg bomb for every post.

It's just rep, yet you are using it as a tool. Why? Because you know it might work. It is very important to some...potn being the prime example.

Rep has been proven to be an effective tool. It doesn't always work, but sometimes does. The fact that it's one of the few tools makes its effective rate less important though.

I for one have no problem using rep as a coercive tool. Our few other tools are report a post to moderators or opening a thread in the help desk. The former option has proven pointless and the latter has been all but banned from WF during the Elwood years because that's just not how things are done.

Manly men don't use the ignore list; they form posses and masturbate furiously at the thought of trying to gang up to intimidate other posters out of responding to threads.

Okay, so they're not so much manly men as six year olds who had hilarious accidents trying to circumcise each other--when you have so little left and have to work so hard to find it and hold it all masturbation is perforce furious to overcome the shame--but they think they're manly men.
