Just So You Know - Bumping Startard or Baba threads will get you neg rep

I propose we eat the threads, possibly with A1 sauce or a Worcestershire sauce. With so many people going hungry in the world today, it would be unconscionable to waste this opportunity to get rid of so much SPAM. I could even fry it up and put it on bread, with a little mayo (or miracle whip), a tomato and piece of cheese.

About 75% of the front page is Starguard and Baba bumps. If these were legit threads, that would be one thing, but they're not. They're being bumped and left to clog up the first couple of pages. While Starguard is nothing but a spambot to me, and Baba is generally accepted as what he is after so long, I don't want them banned or silenced or anything like that. But this whole bumping/negrepping/more bumping shit needs to stop soon, because while this goes on, the Red Room is quickly losing any level of discourse it's had, and is being relegated to a junk forum.

No offense to Liet or Steve under any other circumstances, but right now you're being assholes. If you keep this up, the board will suffer for it. This is the kind of stunt the board doesn't need right now. Markb, I've always considered you a pretty cool poster, but if you want to protest, find a better route. As for the other guys, don't negrep people, just ignore Baba and Starguard. Yeah, you have to see their threads, but what's happening right now is ridiculous. You have to wade through a whole pile of dogshit just to get to any worthwhile threads, whereas before you just had to kind of watch where you stepped. Find a solution, quickly.

I feel a bit sorry about starting this thread. It does leaves the mods and admins in a tough position. Either invoke a rule against SPAM in which case the spammers abuse it by going right up against the line ala Enterpriser, or let things continue and have the retards trying to make a point take a crap over the forum and make it unbearable for everyone else having to wade through even MORE of it.

The thing is, I wasn't the first one to make this call to action, and only started a thread on it to warn people about being neg repped if they were just going to needlessly bump SPAM. This is not about me. It's about many members being pissed off that the SPAM is reaching a breaking point.

The difference between the people doing the neg repping is it was going to just affect the people who were bumping the threads. It seems like there is a group of individuals now that have absolutely NO problem making the entire forum complete shit for EVERYONE to prove their point. And it's not even a good point either. That they can bump SPAM whenever they want? Please...they could do that anyways. This is now about 'winning' for them, and sticking it to these 'Rep Warriors' (if there was such a thing) for causing them grief in times past. The only one who seems genuinely concerned about not having neg rep intimidate other posters is markb, and he hates Startard and Baba SPAM as much as anyone.

Actually, I'm also providing a valuable service. Since the baba/starguard whiners clearly enjoy whining about those threads being bumped so much, I'm bringing great joy to their lives.

But the other forums are not the red room. It has been stated over and over and over and over again, that the red room is unique in that fact. But now we're told we can spam the fuck out of the other forums too? That's complete shit and completely inconsistent with the point of this forum. Might we allow flaming and trolling and other annoying behavior as well? Because right now, the most annoying behavior has got to be this thread bumping spam fest and if you, the mods, are saying that's perfectly OK in all the forums here, I think you need to re-evaluate your position on this subject because you are fast becoming as stupid as everyone else thinks you are.

Wrong. That thread was new 19 hours ago, as was my reply. I have not bumped old threads. Except for the Megatron's Mom thread, that is.

If it weren't about you wanting your own way and needing the attention, you wouldn't have started this thread and spent the next 5 pages wasting time arguing about it. Same goes for everyone else following in this asinine negrep campaign, minus the part about wanting attention for most of them.
