No, i'm telling him to take the easy way, get a nice piece of meat from a butcher/supermarket instead of hunting, killing and dressing the kill to get meat ;)
I don't mind if people hunt deer or boar and eat their kills, i can even understand the thrill of the hunt...
But idiots paying tens of thousands of $$$ to kill a sleepy lion or giraffe from the back of a truck?!?
Yeah, that's lazy and chicken, let them kill the lion up-close, hunter and prey dancing around, trying to get the upperhand...
    And then eat their kill...

There are some things I've come to realize when it comes to guns & Garamet (great band name BTW). Certain things are gospel to her:
    1) if you own more than one gun, you are a paranoid gun nut
    2) if you shoot a gun more often than once in a blue moon, you are a paranoid gun nut
    3) if you aren't a cop, professional security, or a criminal (preferable minority) and you own or use a gun, you are a paranoid gun nut
    4) if you know even the most basic history/mechanics/differences of or about guns, you are a paranoid gun nut
    5) if you don't live in Garametville (AKA paradise) and thus you may have a desire to use a gun for self defense, you are a paranoid gun nut
    6) if you can pass a criminal background check, you are a paranoid gun nut

I agree with you on this! If you want to hunt a grizzly bear, do it from the ground with a bow & arrow with no gun to defend yourself if the hunt goes south, and you have a pissed off wounded bear trying to kill you. :shep:Even if I were rich I wouldn't travel all around the world hunting rare exotic animals. I would spend that money right here in the US hunting common plentiful critters like deer, elk, moose, and caribou.
That's good eating, and you boost local US economies at the same time, and help get a grip on overpopulation - a huge problem especially with deer in certain places.

Why is it every time @oldfella1962 starts going on and on and on and on about how the REAL problem with gun deaths in this country is either "those people" or "gun grabbers" (the latter being anyone who doesn't see the subject EXACTLY the way he does), all I hear is this?

Gunman injures three on Paris train

    • Shooting in France on Paris-Amsterdam train
    • Briton and American seriously wounded
    • Gunman had Kalashnikov and several knives
    • US Marines heard suspect loading gun and tackled him

A man has been arrested after firing a Kalashnikov rifle on board an Amsterdam-Paris train, according to French media.

Le Parisien reports that a Briton and an American are "seriously" wounded.

A third person, the French actor Jean-Hugues Anglade, was also wounded and is said to have raised the alarm.

La Voix du Nord, a newspaper in the Calais region, said a man was arrested on suspicion of firing the weapon on a Thalys train near the northern town of Arras.

Police say that have not ruled out terrorism as a possible motive and Bernard Cazeneuve, the French interior minister, has been summoned to the region.

The gunman, said to be of "North African origin," is said to have been "taken down" by a group of US marines onboard the train.

    Three Marines took him down.

    Go Marines! :salute:

Garamet - why do you hear a yapping dog? Because you are recording your own insane incoherent babbling, forgetting you did this, then playing your babbling back to yourself? :chris:Sometimes the simplest explanations are the best. And we already had a thread on "those people" being their own worst enemy when it comes to gun deaths. I am more likely to get shot by "my people" so if I only defend myself against "my people" that won't upset your liberal sensibilities - everybody wins! One less member of "my people" or maybe two, "those people" aren't harmed (by one of "my people" anyway) and gun haters rejoice because they have more ammo (no pun intended) for their lost cause of turning the US into western Europe.

Doesn't say that the Marines were armed (not that they'd need to be, being Marines and all). Are you sure you want to post this in an All Gunz, All the Time!!!! thread?

I'm sure US Marines were not armed riding a train. The heard him loading a gun thus that's the time to make your move - not after the gun is loaded. They did great! That may not be the point of the post however. I'm not really sure.

Man with AK tries to massacre people on a train. Definite gun thread material.

They heard him loading the gun in the train's bathroom. I'd guess they tackled him as he opened the door screaming "Allah akbar!"

    More.

    Pretty cool.

PARIS — A heavily armed gunman opened fire aboard a packed high-speed train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris late Friday afternoon, wounding several passengers before he was tackled and subdued by two Americans, French officials said, describing the pair as heroes who may have averted a mass killing.

France, on high alert after deadly terrorist attacks this year, immediately sent Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve to Arras, where he commended the two Americans on the train who helped “neutralize this extremely violent passenger,” praising them for their “great bravery” and saying that “without their sang-froid we could have been confronted with a terrible tragedy.”

They were not carrying! So instead of carrying, folks can have three Marines as bodyguards. :techman: Anybody gone down to Academy Sports and priced three Marine bodyguards? :chris:I'm guessing they might cost more than a semi-auto pistol, but to be honest I haven't seen three Marines advertised in my local newspaper. Forbin, what's the price of three Marine bodyguards running up on the east coast? Shoes, how about it in your neck of the woods? Help me out here, folks!

Nope, they can try to understand the point I was making, which is that people who need to carry have dependency issues. If you can't leave the house without being armed - hell, if you can't exist in your house without knowing how many steps you are from the nearest piece - you wouldn't be able to cope in any situation where you didn't have a weapon. You couldn't McGyver you way out of a paper bag. That makes you weak.

And you can McGyver your way out of a paper bag? Great that you are so awesome that you can do this! Sadly many folks cannot :( so they choose to use a weapon that is sufficient to counter the weaponry of any potential threat they might encounter. Of course these people can just take the easy way out and play the victim, which would probably make liberals wet themselves with joy. :fap:

man you must clank when you walk.

So how's this work? I might encounter a terrorist with an RPG. I might encounter a raving north Korean with a small, poorly made nuke. I gots to know how to arm myself!!!

Here's how it works - the odds of ever encountering a terrorist with an RPG are microscopic, no doubt. But the odds of ever encountering somebody shoving a gun in your face and taking your car are a little better depending on where you live. You wouldn't need an RPG to counter this criminal - any standard firearm would do just fine. Does this make sense to you? I can draw pictures if you like.

Oh, yeah, I'm THAT much of an 80's geek, I dug down as obscure as "The Visionaries".
    I went there!

A toy with post-apocalyptic Arthurian knights with holograms on their chests, and you had to recite bad poetry to get heir powers to work.
    And I fuckin did.
    Out-nerd that.

No we think it's cool that two unarmed americans subdued an gun yielding terrorist. This is in perfect keeping with some of the arguments in this thread about the need that the 2nd addresses.
