"punished" being shorthand for "action taken against them by the staff", but I couldn't figure out a way to word it grammatically correctly. "Punished" was the first thing that came to mind. .
Wow. So Storm trolls and threatens someone for days and when it finally gets gul riled up enough to respond, he gets banned for one post!? Especially because Storm continued his troll long after.
Well, I'm guessing that if he wants back it will be much easier for gul to get back than for Storm. An apology letter to Bear and Elwood saying the post was borderline and gul had lost his cool, sorry, it won't happen again, would be enough, I'd guess. I understand not cutting anyone slack up front when trying to resolve this mess, but that doesn't mean there won't be more or less slack on the back end. I'm imagining that a mere "sorry, won't do it again" won't be enough for Storm to get back, as his behavior was repeated, deliberate, not in the middle of an otherwise justified blow up, and Storm's shown no remorse or even inkling that he did anything wrong. I have no idea what Elwood's thoughts on the matter are, but I'd guess a cash donation to keep the wordforge servers running for a few months, a public apology to everyone, and acceptance of a very short leash would be appropriate terms for Storm's return.
Indeed. His rampant denial and total meltdown are the best entertainment TK has ever offered. First time I've ever actually actively lurked over there rather than just following the occasional link or looking for a specific post.
Honestly, I doubt it. He's made it pretty clear that he'd do the same thing all over again given the chance. To whatever extent he's not just an affected internet persona--and if that's all he is there's no reason to let him back--he's shown no understanding of why his behavior was problematic. I don't think the administration wants another like this any time soon, and until Storm shows some genuine contrition and understanding of what he did, letting him back is too likely to result in a repeat. It'll be a long, long time before genuine contrition comes from Storm.
