That's not what I asked - I'm just wondering if you stand by your statement that "every single healthy adult should be armed at all times wherever they go" would apply to people who are high and drunk now that you've had time to think about it.

Intoxication is not a state of health. When you are drunk, you are not healthy, you are ill. We just like the way it feels at first.

Meaning all such "drunk and high" patrons do not meet the kind of person my claim was about.

Please read all the words: )

Hardly as loaded as your original statement.

So in your world people should forego having a good time because a threat exists around every corner and you should be prepared to shoot the fuck out of it should it maybe materialize.

Man, I'm so happy I don't live in a country where these sorts of thoughts cross people's minds.

It's safe and legal to do just about anything after a few drinks, including carry a gun.

You're talking about getting drunk, though, which is different. That's substance abuse.

You also said that all adults should be armed at all times, including presumably those who go out to bars and nightclubs - as this is after all what started this discussion - where people get drunk and high.

Now what you're saying is that people should refrain from doing that so that they can be armed because that will make them safer. Both the falseness and stupidity of your claims are striking.

What's wrong with going to a club, armed, having a couple drinks and a good time?

Sure others may get drunk, but THEIR consumption shouldn't stop YOU from being armed.

If NOT being killed doesn't match the notion of "safer" then nothing does.

Your whole 'argument' rests on two false assumptions:

    1) People being armed makes them safer;
    2) Nightclub and bar patrons are going to change their behaviour to accommodate your views on guns.

If it were anyone else, I'd say they were trolling. But you have expressed similarly absurd views on this topic before.

Answer the fucking question. Is it a good idea to allow drunk and high people to have weapons when we would've even allow them to drive?

    Yes or no.

And you think drinking will help with the accuracy of shooting an armed criminal that likely came there sober?

    You're stupid.

All adults who can handle their liquor should carry. Man, when I think about how hard it is for bar tenders to get keys away from some patrons, imagine trying to disarm a guy once he's had too many.

I've presented no argument. I presented an opinion. I don't care about the Orlando attack as an event, and I gave my reasons why. There is no debate here.

It does. That's not false, that's demonstratively true.
Lie. It is the very fact that I know they won't change that dissuades me from investing in the incident.
Regardless, I choose if I'm trolling, not you, because trolling requires intent and only I decide my intent. That you get mad at my words doesn't mean I wanted you to. In fact if I had that kind of power over how you and others felt I would make you love me and send me money and chocolates :)

    Exactly.

It seems many on this thread have never heard of Designated Drivers, either. Many people go to bars and not drink a drop. I suspect the employees are included in that group. Even subtracting all the intoxicated individuals, there were still many in that club that could have carried.

So now 50 people are dead, but hey, at least they obeyed the law ;)

And no number of armed club goers would've probably made a difference.

Armed self defence against a murderer with a drawn weapon is largely a myth.

    1) Then please go ahead and demonstrate it. (This should be good).
    2) This makes no sense.
    3) Good grief. Calling your absurd views absurd means that I think they're absurd. I thought that, at least, would be obvious.

And what about the rest of my statement, the part you cut from the quote?

Kardashians. Not that I consider them "major issues," which is why I haven't contributed to this thread until now.

Say, what ever happened to Paris Hilton? Or Lindsay Lohan? Or anyone else Famous for Being Famous?

Bar patrons cannot "change their behavior" as to carrying guns because if you can't take your gun into that bar, then there's no choice other than don't go to that bar.

Drunk driving is a far greater threat to America than is terrorism: http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2015/12/just-dangerous-terrorism-really.html

In-fact, simply enjoying a beer in your own home is far more dangerous to you than terrorism:
Terrorism is a non-issue trumped up to keep the people in fear and under control.

I choose not to fear, and so while I feel for the victims, I don't invest in the media's sensationalism. I suggest others do likewise. One way to repel fear is by being prepared, and one way of being prepared is by carrying a gun, as the personal sidearm is just a safety device like fire extinguishers and seat belts.

It seems to be that way! If it's not encouraged to promote fear, the government (and others) are certainly exploiting fear for their advantage. That's pretty sad really.
