Old thread got killed, I'll be pissed if this one does too.

    ;)

Either way, I was sick two Friday's ago....so I'm at 260# at the moment. Going for 270# this Friday.

I'm trying for 300# and then I have to change things up completely and maybe take a week to 10 days off.

My back is sore almost daily. I need a break.

Pretty sure I have some form of Acute back pain from stressed tendons. Or something like that.

Nothing serious.....squats are out the window for the time being though. DLing makes my back feel good. Hard to believe.

    Massaging also helps. Big time.

It's not that unrealistic. I've lifted over 400.

I know a 55 year old guy that went from 150#-550# in a little over 4 years.

If he can do it, so can I.

I have the next 6 days off.

Going to be hard to eat right.

Horrible right now. Too many binge meals.

I let it go for the past 3 weeks or so, because of my gains. Its obvious that I have put on a fair bit of muscle, but I've picked up some fat too.

I'll try to cut back a bit on the eating......get to 300#, and then start cutting.

Summer is a perfect time to cut anyways.

    What's horrible?

    My usual weekday:

    Breakfast: oatmeal with honey

Lunch: 1 spicy tuna California roll and a bowl of soup

Dinner: A sandwich from Jersey Mike's, Panera, or Quiznos

Snack: wheat thins, 1/3 box a day

I've got my weight down to 191 just through portion control.

    Breakfast: cereal of some kind.

Lunch: Various meals.....we have a cook at work that makes all kinds of different meals for us. Usually I try to get a good dose of red meat, lots of vegetables, and carbs.

Afternoon snack: Some peanuts....assorted trail mix, stuff like that. Usually something higher in protein. Or I eat some fruit.

Dinner: Sometimes I grab a sub from Subway, other times I eat at work(same cook again, making meals, always different).....other times I don't eat much at all.

My problem is the stupid hunger pangs I get later on the evening. I knew I needed more calories, so I let everything slide for about 4 weeks or so, and that is probably why I've consistently been able to add weight on my DL, but I've also picked up some fat that I don't like.

So, my solution is pretty simple actually. Quit with the late evening snacks, or start reducing how much of them I eat.

Have you thought about cutting back on lunch. It's the easiest meal to cut calories on, at least in my experience.

    I could, to a point.

I need lots of energy in the afternoon, and considering I don't have time to get a snack in around 3 or so, I try to eat a bit more for lunch.

I am cutting back a bit with everything though. Including the binge meals.

Better idea: Don't cut back on everything at once. Cut back on one meal.

    3x290#. :techman:

About the diet, I'm slowly cutting back 'per' meal.

    It'll work. With time.

Entering my 10th week tomorrow. Well, technically it will be 11 weeks, as I was sick on a Friday once, so I pushed the 10# increase one extra week.

But, in the end it'll be 10 weeks, 100# increase on my DL.

    Not bad. :techman:

Do you wear a belt or wrap your hands when you're lifting heavy?

    Nope.

I don't wear gloves or use chalk either. The mixed grip works good.

    Pulled 5x300# yesterday.

I should ask one of the mods to change the thread title to '600#' instead of '500#.'

At my age, I might as well shoot for 600#.

    42x240# in 10 min.

Oh, and I started a new DL routine. Pulled 2x300# on Monday. Its a one day a week program, designed to increase my max to 400# in 10 weeks.

    Hopefully.

Riding a road bike is much more fun than heaving a hunk of rubber a few feet. And it saves money on gas.

    1x2x320#.

    8x3x260#.

Harder than I thought. I probably shouldn't lift on Monday.
