    Pretty much. Damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

    I actually agree with Dayton. After Columbine, there were a ton of copycat wannabes shootings/bomb threats for the next year afterwards because a lot of these folks just wanted attention.

    With social media being what it is, the names wouldn't be too hard to find, but there should be a law similar to that for sexual assault victims where the names aren't disclosed on TV.

    That's not a law; it's just a policy that's been adopted by the vast majority of outlets. A law prohibiting publication would be struck down in no time.
