What point would that be? The point of me being angry about close to two hundred dead Frenchmen? The point of me, after twenty years of supporting an open-border policy, realizing that this is starting to get completely insane? The point of me being worried to death about my sister who I have not been able to raise all night?
There was a joke going around after 9/11. A cowboy, an Indian, and a Muslim are sitting around a campfire out in the American West. The Indian looks out on the plains and says "Once we were many, and now we are few." The Muslims looks out and says "Once we were few, and now we are many." The Cowboy says "That's because we haven't played cowboys and Muslims yet."
Those people were dead the instant the terrorists showed up. France made the right decision to go in immediately. We have to start accepting that there is no such thing as a "hostage" anymore. Every terrorist attack after 9/11 has resulted in hostages being wiped out. Terrorists only take hostages to grandstand before they kill the hostages and themselves.
I don't judge billions of people by the deeds of a few. Like I don't judge all Americans by the deeds of McVeigh, not all Europeans by the deeds of Hitler and not all Russians by the deeds of Stalin. Or, in short so that you can understand: I have a functioning brain and you don't.
Fair enough, didn't know you had a sister in Paris. I hope she's OK. I understand your reaction better given that set of facts.
What else should we do? We leveled Europe and Japan. Time to do the same to the Middle East. They need to either join the 21st century or be bombed back to the Stone Age. There's no more negotiating with them.
Too late for that. Europe has all but thrown the door open for the middle east to come into your countries. They are there. It's too late. They've been attacking Europe for years now. Just seems your governments refuse to take it seriously enough to crush Islam.
Chad is the reason why America would lose WWII if it were fought today. We dropped two nukes on Japan and the war ended immediately.
Japan didn't surrender because USA dropped the nukes, it surrendered because the Soviet fleet entered Japanese waters. Anyway, that's a different subject.
I agree in theory but.......there's no way to fight them without some collateral damage! Especially when you are fighting an enemy who do.....not.....care about collateral damage. Not even a little bit. Allah wants everyone to die, period. So if you put "boots on the ground" etc.etc. INNOCENTS WILL BE SLAUGHTERED whether on purpose (via the bad guys) or on accident (via the good guys). That is the reality of war. And even if the good guys practice every procedure to eliminate civilians getting killed, they will get killed. It's the law of averages - it's math. And this will put the brakes on any all-out military action. We want the omelettes, but we don't want to break the eggs. We cannot have it both ways.
Translation: you're a terrorist enabler. I'm sure there were Germans who didn't support the rounding up and slaughtering of Jews. I'm sure there were Japanese who didn't support the military adventurism. We still dropped bombs and ended their military aggression through brute force. The same must be done here.
I spoke to my friend, she is OK. She was at home when all this started. I've heard from some other people I know there too; all are OK thank goodness. I hope your sister is OK too @armalyte
That's been the nature of war since the first caveman smashed another caveman's skull with a rock. However, there's less collateral damage with highly trained ground troops than those bombing runs. A Marine team won't shoot up a wedding reception. Bombs don't care.
Dul represents that flavor of enabler that will minimize the problem and then claim there is nothing effective we can do to stop it. His type of obstructionism must be pushed aside if men of courage are to end this insanity.
Note that it is the avowed strategy of Islamic terror to generate a crackdown in France inorder to radicalise French muslims. #ParisAttacks https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/665330362516643840 Shared via Plume http://bit.ly/GetPlume
Because it isn't all (or even most) of the Middle East. Israel doesn't threaten us. Hell, Jordan is building a Star Trek theme park. Bahrain has been quietly pro western for years IIRC. Parts of Lebanon are pro western IIRC. Kuwait is pro western (thanks to George H.W. Bush). For that matter the government of Saudi Arabia in their own very flawed and imperfect way has tried for decades to tamp down the anti U.S., anti western inclinations of much of its population For that matter, do you want even more refugees to flood north and destabilize parts of Turkey (which is a NATO ally of decades standing).?
