I personally think Secret Invasion is one of those plots that should have been saved for only the most dire of franchise emergencies. Everyone hated Captain America 7: Multiverse of Ass and Doctor Strange 4: Mission to Moscow? Surprise, motherfuckers! Doc and Cap were Skrulls in those ones, so all future movies will pretend those events never happened.
Looks like Deadpool 3 is going to miss its release date, and Cap 4 is being bumped up to take its place. Course, as mentioned before, Cap 4 is backdoor Hulk 3, like Thor 3 is backdoor Hulk 2. So...much as I want Fox's answer to "No Way Home" I'll take some Hulk too. Come on, its got Leader, Abomination, Thunderbolt Ross, Betty Ross, there's no way it won't also have Hulk and She-Hulk.
There's chatter about Marvel replacing Kang with Doctor Doom as the next big bad guy given Jonathon Majors' current legal woes and hopefully the fact Kang just got his ass whupped by Ant Man and The Wasp https://collider.com/marvel-doctor-doom-replace-kang/
I feel like I've be hearing rumours for ages that Dooms introduction would be as the one who defeats Kang after everyone else has failed. But there were also rumours that Jonathan Majors would play Reed Richards, and the all the Kangs would replace The Maker and the Council of Reeds from the comics, as well as Kang being one of Reed's descendants. Meh.
No, there’s no title yet. I sometimes refer to it as Deadpool versus Wolverine or Deadpool and Wolverine or Deadpool 3 With Wolvie – we’ve got a few titles we’ve been bandying about, but boy, it’s a tough one.
Final trailer of The Marvels......really going hard on the Cap and Iron Man nostalgia which to me doesn't really suggest they have something great on their hands
Oh, it's going to be a spectacle. After all the re-shoots, plus advertising, I heard somewhere that it'd have to make around a billion to break even.
They’re getting desperate. South Park probably put the nail in the coffin before it even got released.
I honestly hope it's good, I enjoyed the first one and like the character and I do want the Marvel movies to succeed and get better after some down years (although GotG 3 was fantastic), but everything I've seen from this looks pretty meh
Well that would probably be Xmen/Deadpool/Fantastic 4 They really need to kickstart that, and I guess this is the movie that does it.....but in the end credits We haven't really even heard of any significant casting news or anything though
For some reason their wildly off the mark criticism of Harry and Meghan really caught on, but other than that when's the last time South Park really influenced pop culture to the extent that it could make or break a Marvel movie? "Dances with Smurfs" didn't seem to hurt Avatar 2.
That's a weirdly specific question considering they haven't really criticized Marvel until now. As far as Avatar 2 goes, that episode and the release of the movie were years apart. The release of the Marvels and this special are almost perfectly timed and I don't know about you, but in my social circles, it seems like everyone is noticing the same thing at the same time. It seems to me like the perfect storm. Never mind the people intentionally want it to fail. My personal opinion is that it's kind of weird to link Captain Marvel to Captain America and Iron Man when she was barely a part of the Infinity saga and had little interaction with them. Cap and Tony had a long standing relationship.
It's not weird, it's building on nostalgia from when Marvel movies were great and trying to use that to convince people to see this movie
Yeah, characters introduced post-Endgame have been a mixed bag to say the least, so it makes perfect sense to remind everyone that Carol isn't new, she was part of the golden age of the MCU. (Even if she did just slip in at the last minute.)
That the multiverse concept is being driven to the ground a little convoluted and that phase five seems rudderless. I personally think Loki is fantastic, but everything else is kind of boring and uneven.
In the comics, Carol Danvers, back when she was Ms. Marvel (and before Rogue fucked up her shit, and put her in a coma for a decade) had "AA without God" on her bookshelf, establishing she's an atheist alcoholic. As "woke" as Disney allegedly is, they didn't touch that with a 40 foot pole. I would have loved to have seen the teeth gnashing if that was part of movie-Carol's backstory.
No, I don't agree. In fact, I don't think it's being used enough to tie the uber-story together. Individual movies like "No Way Home" are instant classics, but it's the uber-story that isn't gelling.
