Rumor is, Age Of Kang has the new b-lister Avengers fight Kang and lose, then Secret Wars has the TVA pluck Downy Jr Iron Man, Jackman Wolverine, Deadpool, and McGuire-Spidey out of the multiverse, and they re-fight the fight and win. https://comicbookmovie.com/avengers...gers-secret-wars---spoilers-a205962#gs.6g0gkh
There's also a rumor that the reboot-X-Men will start with the original Stan Lee 60's lineup and not add Wolverine for awhile.
Hmm. Be interesting to see what they do with Angel then - without the powerups he got later (some of which i.e. healing factor will be decried as ripping off Wolvie) he's JUST a flyer and not even as fast as Falcon/SamCap.
> one reliable (or perhaps semi-reliable) scooper Uh-huh. Like, if you told me "Kang" and "find a way to bring some of the previous popular Avengers back" this is exactly the kind of skeleton of an idea I'd come up with. Anyone looking to start a rumor would come up with this. It's so bare-bones it's not worth taking seriously at this point.
Considering Ant Man and The Wasp just whupped Kang's ass, is it really even necessary to bring more people in to help? I mean Spidey should be able to handle it by himself
And wasn't that particular Kang was supposed to be the most dangerous and conquery of all the Kangs, who ended up exiled by the rest of them?
It's like when DC used Flashpoint to introduce Supergirl and bring back Keaton Batman, only to show them getting killed by Zod's forces over and over and over... who's excited about seeing more of them now, after such a depressing and disappointing introduction?
The Fantastic Four cast is all picked out, but the strikes are delaying the finishing of their contracts, so it has to be secret until then. This straight from the director. https://comicbookmovie.com/fantasti...-anything-youve-seen-before-a206056#gs.6n36oj
More details to the rumors say the post-Secret Wars reboot will be even softer than the DC reboot. More of a pruning. https://comicbookmovie.com/avengers...rs-secret-wars-have-emerged-a207168#gs.6xs2c2
Matthew Vaughn says he was offered X-Men 3, but he rejected it, because they had a fake script with cooler scenes for Storm to trick Halle Berry into signing on that they never intended to shoot. Says when he turned it down over that, he got the "you'll never work in this town again" speech, but turns out that's just gaslighting. Well...to men. They mean it when they say it to women. https://comicbookmovie.com/x_men/x_...script-to-trick-halle-berry-a207216#gs.6zb1sx
Finally saw/collected "Wakanda Forever" and "Quantumania". Loved "Quantumania". Liked but didn't love "Wakanda".
I don't give a shit about YouTube reviewers, but I just got a Critical Drinker video in my suggestions titled "The Marvels: Biggest Flop in MCU History?" For fuck sakes, it's not even out until next month and the fuckin' incel neckbeard brigade has already lost their damn minds. Pathetic.
I actually watched the video. Did you notice the question mark in the title? He doesn’t say it will flop, he even says it may do well at the box office. He predicts that it will based on the performance of the past few MCU movies and shows with the exception of Guardians 3. He bases this on the article linked below. https://www.boxofficepro.com/long-range-box-office-forecast-marvel-studios-the-marvels/
You know I write my own posts, right? Like I'm the one that included the question mark in in the title? I'm not reading all that. That title is pure incel neckbeard clickbait.
Do you know what the rule of headlines is? “If it asks a question that can be answered with ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ the answer is almost always ‘no’.”
I'm looking forward to The Marvels. Then again, I didn't get all the hate for Captain Marvel. Not one of the MCU's finest outings by any stretch, but certainly not worthy of the derision it received. I actually think the scene toward the end, with young Carol Danvers picking herself up and dusting herself off ("I'm only human"), is one of the more emotionally rewarding moments of the MCU.
I'm also looking forward to The Marvels, because I like Kamala and some of her best moments are when she gets to act like a giant fuckin' dork.
I didn't care for Captain Marvel, but it had nothing to do with Brie Larson, who was very good in that role, and I enjoyed her in Endgame as well. But that was the moment they made it clear that they didn't want people who knew the comics writing the next series of stories, and man has it showed at times. I really hated what they did with the Skrulls, didn't like what they did with Fury, and that spiraled into Secret Invasion, which was pretty bad. And I really didn't care for ignoring the original Captain Marvel, when that character was pivotal to the development of comics as a more serious medium - the death of Captain Marvel was the first ever graphic novel, and dealt with losing loved ones to cancer. I'm willing to give Ms. Marvel a chance and thought her series was fun, and that actress has a ton of charisma. Though the bullshit about no one knowing what started the atrocities in the breakup of India and Pakistan was nauseating - it was the Muslims. Again. Anyway, looking forward to the Marvels and I'll give it a chance. The trailers make it look fun.
Brie Larson said some feminist stuff, and UA's hero The Quartering made her his stalker obsession for 3 whole years. Whereas Scarlett Johansen said playing a white-washed Japanese character is the same as playing a talking tree, and feminists and anti-feminists didn't know how to handle that shit. So, Larson's crime was being too articulate, when she would have been impenetrably weird like Johannsen.
I thought what they did with the Skrulls in CM was a good twist because I didn't see it coming, and it's nice to see a story now and then where the ugly guys aren't the bad guys, but SI shat all over it. "They're just harmless refugees!" Okay, sure. "These refugees are violent and untrustworthy, there's extremists among them, violence is the only way to deal with them." What the fuck?
That's the thing, the Skrulls were always going to end up being bad guys if they did Secret Invasion. And as they were clearly proxies for the concept of illegal immigration, that was a nice shoutout to the Heil Hitler crowd. Which any moron could see was coming from a mile away. Stupid of them to have done it. Guess they thought they covered themselves by making the Kree the space nazis. Which was a bad take on them as well. There were good Kree and good Skrulls, but WTF are you doing Skrulls years before Galactus. You could easily have done Captain Marvel without Skrulls, they have very little to do with her back story. Just bad writing IMO.
