You know, for a thread that has over 46000 views and has been ongoing for years, you'd think it would have more than 662 posts.
That's not libertarianism, that's Scannersexplodingheadguyism. Not that I object to Scannersexplodingheadguyism, just saying -- different.
I think it's amusing that of all the political systems that comprise the usurious status quo, their defenders are ready -- in fact, eager -- to say, "Well, it's not perfect, but it's what we've got!" Bring up libertarianism and suddenly absolute perfection is a minimum requirement. "It'll lead to feudalism!" Exactly how the fuck is that worse than the oligarchy we have now? Bare minimum it means you have more choice over which entity you want to put up with. If monopoly-busting is good for the private sector, how is it suddenly a terrible idea for the public sector?
Really? Then let's look at the pertinent part of post 646: Provide examples. Again, examples. So you're deciding the outcomes of theories based on personal bias, now? If that's the case, then you don't even understand the theory. And post 646 doesn't even begin to address the question: If monopoly-busting is good in the private sector, why isn't it good in the public sector? What makes government so fucking princess precious that it absolutely must never be made to compete to satisfy the people?
Point me to somebody who doesn't do that? If you think you don't bring personal bias to your perceptions, then you are just as insane as everybody says you are. We have a system that is broken up in to multiple levels with competing authority centers. Despite your biased interpretation, that's not a monopoly. And as I pointed out in 646, we as citizens have some levers to control these entities. What levers do we have regarding corporate monopolies that arise in a regulation free environment?
No, it doesn't, which is something that has been proven again and again by history. That's cool, though, how you are posting memes about yourself. That is indeed impressive.
I guess you didn't read through that thread very carefully. Be that as it may, if you can't let go of it or pay attention to the actual discussion before you, because you feel compelled to let that prevent you from reading or understanding anything else, I guess that's a pretty bad reflection on who you are.
So, @John Castle, is there a Real Life example in which libertarianism has been applied and actually works?
Yep. And you know what it is, too. Or maybe you don't, but if you don't, you should be ashamed of yourself.
If it's been "proven again and again by history" you should have no trouble dispensing an historical example of a non-government entity which applied force and wasn't then interfered with by a jealous government for doing it. Let's see... native Americans responded to force with force in their efforts to resist European expansion into their land. How'd the government react to that?
