But you have to start with qualities that already exist. Same with stereotypes. They become stereotypes by being essentially true often enough and in a broad enough set of circumstances. They're not the product of invention, but of observation.

Three's Company is a runaway hit, other sitcoms borrow the formula, more dumb blonds show up on teevee, and there's your consistancy. Pretty much the only time I've ever seen the steiotypical "dumb blond" has been on sitcoms. IRL, I've never noticed blonds being any dumber than anyone else.

IMHO you can go to such meetings and put 100 per cent of the audience under immediate surveillance. Those are the people you will read about sooner or later.
