OK... I'm excited. [YT="Wow.... Just wow!"]CN6517n1xDw[/YT] For those of you who played any of the Call of Duty games, specifically Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, you know why I am so excited about this. Apparently, You can play this game as Lt. Gary "Roach" Sanderson who is under the command of Cpt. Soap MacTavish, who we got to play in Modern Warfare 1 as Lt. MacTavish. This one will be set in an icy mountainous region as well as the fevallahs of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. You are once again foiling the terrorist plots of Russian ultranationalist, this time from Vladimir Makarov (sp?). Makarov was the #2 of Imrahn Zhakaev from COD4.... So there's definitely a revenge factor to this one. My first COD title was World at War, which blew my mind with it's WWII imagery and battles....not to mention the gameplay. I then went out and picked up COD4 used and I have to say that I'm hooked on this franchise. I've tried other first person shooters and nothing seems to grab me like the COD series. It hits the streets on the 10th of November... Watch this thread for updates as they become available.
The world is put in peril once more by lily-white caucasian ultranationalists. Only a crack team of freedom loving patriots representing a diverse cross section of western culture can save the day! It's diversilicious! I'm gonna buy the game and all, but seriously.
It's an interactive rail shooter. The series used to be pretty impressive, back when the developers first made Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, but Call of Duty 4 lacked any signature levels and is largely a modern rehash of the series. That said, I liked Medal of Honor before 2015 got their hands on it. The sneaking around, the sabotage and assassinations? Underground was a great sequel too. I like that they're bringing back the SAS for this installment; those missions were far more fun than the ride through "Generic Middle Eastern Country" as a Marine.
It was the first multiplayer game that had the perks/weapon customization system set up, I believe. At least the first one people played much.
I was really put-off by the Marine missions in Modern Warfare, specifically because the way they portrayed the American soldiers was meant to appeal to the gaming audience (which it undoubtedly did), but I found their attitudes to be moronic.
to be fair, there was a Russian informant named "Nikoli" that worked with the SAS and USMC.... and then there was Al-Asad, who was a high ranking nemesis. They make these video games more entertaining than most movies these days. Does anyone else have any other suggestions of game franchises they'd like to reccommend?
Yeah, the first three Rainbow Six games. Don't even bother with the latest incarnations, they're garbage and people who buy them are garbage.
If I play this I might just do so in proper 1080p using my PC. If I'm sitting at the desk I will use keyboard and mouse, if I plug it into the tv will use a 360 pad.
Actually when it comes to shooters I tend to snipe, which means head shots only and takes some more skill than "spray and pray".
Then you'd like a mouse even more! Oh, and sniping is easier than being in the thick of it... You know, you don't have to have a scope and a hiding place to shoot people in the face. Picking your shots and shooting a guy from across the map is really pretty easy, I don't get this perception that it is hard to place a cursor on a head. Now, doing that on someone who KNOWS you are there, and is firing back, while you are having to actually take evasive action, is a bit more difficult.
On the PS3, if you are facing ing the general direction of an enemy and press L1, the gun auto-aims for you. It's really simple.
Most console shooters have a degree of auto-aim to make up for The less precise nature of analogue sticks.
The trick is to get the drop on your enemy. If he has you insights first and fires a round, you obviously can't aim at him effectively. Finding cover to fire from and patience is the key to success, IMHO.
Really depends. I had each of the 5 available custom sets geared for completely different playstyles on COD4. Running around can be very effective. So can standing out in the open.
