Gee, I wonder why Nunes was so keen to suck up to the White House with the whole unmasking thing? http://uk.businessinsider.com/devin-nunes-michael-flynn-turkey-russia-2017-11?r=US&IR=T
the pee tape only matters in that it serves as kompromat (ever how you spell that) The actual behavior itself, while Peak Trump, matters not to his job - only the fact that he could theoretically be blackmailed. And lord knows his conduct in office is VERY much that of a man who knows Putin has an eternal grip on his balls.
In Cyrillic letters is how you spell it, like much of Trump's presidency. No, I have to insist here. That's a trap. If we tell his followers that one of the worst things he did is find something arousing that most people don't, they will rightly shrug their shoulders. In fact, in the phrase "pissed on by Russian hookers", it's the Russian hookers bit that says more about what is wrong with Trump, because it strongly implies a lack of real consent. Actual peak Trump has to be selling out the country to the Russian dictator, followed closely by the attempts to destroy Obamacare, the successful use of his position to enrich himself and his family, and his support for racists, bigots, and actual Nazis, and then his constant lies that ndermine all remaining trust in public discourse and thus democracy. Look at that list (and it's far from complete) -- a sexual fetish doesn't rate a footnote here.
I agree with this... If we were all enlightened about sexual fetishes and right to do whatever consenting adults want in private. But the "party of family values" is almost required to put its foot down against such "deviancy" in public, even if they enjoy it in private. It need not be wielded as a weapon by the opposition to have an effect. Of course, we also have Roy Moore apologists.
nonono. Not what I mean by "Peak Trump" I don't believe even a little bit that they pissed ON him - and it's not what the report says. Nor do I think he'd ever in a million years be tempted by such a kink. The report says that he hired them to piss on the bed specifically because Obama had used it. THAT is Peak Trump.
I just have this image of Mueller being like Peter Falk as Columbo. "Excuse me, miss, but just one more question..."
https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/11/23/us/politics/flynn-mueller-russia-trump.html WASHINGTON — Lawyers for Michael T. Flynn, President Trump’s former national security adviser, notified the president’s legal team in recent days that they could no longer discuss the special counsel’s investigation, according to four people involved in the case, an indication that Mr. Flynn is cooperating with prosecutors or negotiating such a deal. Mr. Flynn’s lawyers had been sharing information with Mr. Trump’s lawyers about the investigation by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, who is examining whether anyone around Mr. Trump was involved in Russian efforts to undermine Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. That agreement has been terminated, the four people said. Defense lawyers frequently share information during investigations, but they must stop when doing so would pose a conflict of interest. It is unethical for lawyers to work together when one client is cooperating with prosecutors and another is still under investigation. The notification alone does not prove that Mr. Flynn is cooperating with Mr. Mueller. Some lawyers withdraw from information-sharing arrangements as soon as they begin negotiating with prosecutors. And such negotiations sometimes fall apart. Still, the notification led Mr. Trump’s lawyers to believe that Mr. Flynn — who, along with his son, is seen as having significant criminal exposure — has, at the least, begun discussions with Mr. Mueller about cooperating.
I'm mulling a timeline that undermines him getting anything significant done through the 2018 elections, then the new House impeaching him in 2019, the Senate won't convict I'm sure but the question would be whether his ego tells him to resign or defy. Either way that sucks the oxygen out of 2019 and sets the context for the 2020 election cycle.
http://amp.thedailybeast.com/if-mic...e-against-donald-trump-gets-much-more-serious As others have reported it is likely Flynn has now turned state's evidence and that means Trump's treasonous goose is cooked. It remains to be seen if Republicans in Congress will put country over party but I now expect hard evidence tgat Trump conspired with Russia to effect the outcome of US elections.
I would just like him out after it's possible for Pence to run for more than one term (not that I think he'd win, but...). I don't remember the exact number of days Der Drumpfenfűhrer can remain in office before he fucks up his vice president's chances, but I wonder if McConnell et al. are taking it right up to the edge for that reason.
Haha. Trump will will emerge unscathed, just like he always does. Because the world sucks and is not fair.
A lot hinges on Jones v Moore. If Jones is somehow able to pull out a win (I still think it is 60-40 Moore) then the Rs have to get tax reform passed by Dec 26 (when Jones would be seated IIRC). A lot of big R donors have said no taxes, no campaign cash. Combined with the infighting that would likely result and 2018 could be disastrous for them.
The DNC has had some exceptionally bad campaign fund raising last quarter. Now, much of that has to do eith the fact that campaign finacing is pure corruption with lobbyists paying to get legislation which helps them but harms everyone else especially competitors and consumers. The Republicans control all three branches of government so they have no influence to sell. Abotger part is tge Republicabs have made it known that if you donate any money to the DNC then your lobbying efforts go to the back of the line. It is a way to make sure only thry get donations while the Dems do not. The most needed reform is to get big money out of politics and to honestly declare bribes to be bribes so that both the bribe giver and bribe taker go to jail. That will never happen though.
You're running out of time. No I don't mean you personally. You'll kick the bucket soon enough. I'm talking about your little Pence wish. If Trump makes it past two years before leaving office Pence would take over and could run in 2020 and than again in 2024. So the max a person could serve as POTUS is ten years. Two years of the previous POTUS term and than two 4 year terms (if elected). All courtesy of the 22nd Amendment: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. So once Trump passes the two year mark Pence if he took over could serve the rest of Trumps term and than run two more times. Had the 22nd been around when Truman took over from Roosevelt than Truman would have been limited to one term. But the Amendment which was ratified while Truman was in office exempted him. He didn't run for a second term. LBJ could have served two more terms after taking JFK's spot but he of course decided to not run again in 1968. Ford could only have served one term after taking over for Nixon because Nixon left with more than two years left in his term.
It may not necessarily mean Trump, but could be Kuschner or Don Jr. Not good for President Tangerine I either way. I found this telling: https://crooksandliars.com/2017/11/michael-flynn-has-something-trump-lawyers
https://www.politico.eu/article/europe-eats-trumps-lunch/ Not really related to Mueller just another example of how Trump has failed America.
I'm not really that worried a about Pence being able to run twice, if he were re-elected in 2020 we'd be irreversibly fucked anyway. You'd lose the courts (even more so than is already happening) for the rest of the century and the Oligarchy will be firmly in place well before then.
Aaaaaaaaaaand there’s another count of obstruction for witness tampering. http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-james-woolsey-mueller-mar-a-lago-2017-11
