    Well of course.

    That's how deals work.

Mueller no doubt has other charges against Flynn and his son that would result in far more years in prison than what Flynn just plead guilty too.

If Flynn fails to hold up his end of the deal not only would he probably get the max for what he just plead guilty too he would get all those other charges.

    The swamp is Washington D.C.

And if you think Goldman Sachs wasn't all over DC before Trump you need to get your head examined.

Trump changed his story about why he fired Flynn and is now saying he knew Flynn had lied to the FBI before he fired him. Yeah, because Trump was the one who told him to lie.

If they get Trump to be questioned by FBI or under oath he's doomed, the man can not tell the truth, he has a sickness.

I doubt that. They won't gut popular programs a year before the election.

they no longer care. The cult will vote for them anyway, the Billionaires will buy the rest, or handsomely reward the ones who lose.

This is the logical result of Citizens United. You don't have to be popular with anyone but the Oligarchy. After all, they just did something barely 70% of voters support and came out grinning.

Charge a sitting President. Do it.

And do not complain when after 2020 that if a Democrat president is in office that they face charges for something.

Because that's what's going to happen.

Only stupid people so desperate to get Trump, like you, would advocate such a stupid thing.

Use the system in place and impeach in the House and convict than remove in the Senate.

the obvious understanding of the text should be held valid absent some documented context to the contrary.

the VERY weak spin of "she meant 'the Democrats are saying they threw the election'" doesn't hold a drop of credibility.

    I think it's problematic.

Trusting the Senate who pull that appalling shit last night to muster the votes to remove him, however, is akin to trusting them to award every American a free unicorn for Christmas.

Truth is, the election of Trump has basically destroyed the norms and the guardrails and dealing with him can't be constrained by guardrails that don't constrain him. I don't think its possible for the opposition party to mount this sort of independent investigation and bring charges for a non-existent crime for political gain on the regular. There will be a lot of lose talk and an occasional empty try. But on the other hand, when there's an actual crime there will be precedent and maybe, in time, if we somehow survive the coming decades, presidents will more carefully consider whether or not they can get away with bullshit because they control Congress.

No, but there are no good choices and Ryan MIGHT be SLIGHTLY less interested in pandering to the Pharisees. Plus, by the time we work through the process of this whole mess, he won't have time to govern much.

Besides, unless you get both Trump and Pence in one move, there will be another VP appointed somewhere along the way before Ryan ever gets his shot Albeit, probably some other evil asshole but like I said, no good options.

Absolute bullshit and typical sky is falling crap.

It's the same argument that people against Obama made and you fucking know it.

    What has Trump done?

He's removed some regulations. He's appointed a bunch of conservative judges. Legislatively he's done squat because the Republicans are fucking idiots until the tax plan right now.

So really Trump has been pretty much bluster.

You want to fuck up the country just to get Trump. You're that desperate that your willing to ruin the country because, it might be a old cliche but it applies here, turnabout is fair play.

Remember what happened when Reid destroyed the filibuster on judicial nominees? Well again turnabout is fair play. There is no filibuster and the Democrats have zero ability to stop any judicial appointments.

But no! Let's set the precedent and charge a sitting President with a crime while he's in office. Maybe he'll have to wear a fucking ankle bracelet in the White House.

Personally, I'm a white dude that has insurance through my work, so I'm all good so far, but he has trashed up our influence on the world stage. The president of the US used to be the "leader of the free world". Now it's pretty much either Merkel or Xi Jinping depending on who you ask. Some Republicans may consider that a good thing though, so YMMV.

Trump lawyer wrote tweet implying Trump knew Flynn lied to FBI

President Trump's personal attorney composed a tweet that implied Mr. Trump knew his former national security adviser Michael Flynn had lied to the FBI when he demanded his resignation in February, sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell CBS News.

On Saturday, a tweet from Mr. Trump's account stated that he "had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI." John Dowd was the principle wordsmith for the tweet, and it's unclear whether Mr. Trump saw the final version, sources said. The president was in between fundraisers in New York when the tweet was sent from an iPhone.

Sources acknowledged Mr. Trump's tweet was unhelpful, raising questions about what the president knew and when.

Dowd meant to convey that Flynn was fired for lying to Pence and other White House officials about his conversations with Kislyak, and "now we know" that he lied to the FBI, according to these sources. But Dowd bungled the tweet and created confusion around Mr. Trump's knowledge of events.

Flynn pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI on Friday, becoming the first current or former White House official to face charges in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

The Washington Post first reported Dowd's authorship of the tweet.

They figured out that Trump admitted to a crime on twitter and now they are scrambling to come up with excuses to save him. This is the dumbest mother fucker ever.

This would be relatively easy to prove since it was sent by iPhone using Twitter over a cellular network you nitwit.

Yes. How could he not be. It's in his name. A person reading it wouldn't know it was someone else tweeting.

Trump should allow no one to tweet in his name. Ever. That's just asking for trouble. Like this tweet.

    What does 'held responsible' mean?

You guys understand that most high profile SM accounts are rarely managed by the person themselves right? Even when the principle has a role, most have teams that supplement.

*does social media management for 5 different accounts*

    Of course.

But your tweets on your CEO's account are still in his name.

He owns whatever you write in his name. Write something stupid and while you may get fired for it readers will still blame him.
