if you came across an 11 year old in school with Trump's vocabulary and language skills you'd probably want to have him tested as a potential special needs student.

Trump legal team readies attack on Flynn’s credibility

President Trump’s legal team plans to cast former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn as a liar seeking to protect himself if he accuses the president or his senior aides of any wrongdoing, according to three people familiar with the strategy.

The approach would mark a sharp break from Trump’s previously sympathetic posture toward Flynn, whom he called a “wonderful man” when Flynn was ousted from the White House in February. Earlier this month, the president did not rule out a possible pardon for Flynn, who is cooperating with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Attorneys for Trump and his top advisers have privately expressed confidence that Flynn does not have any evidence that could implicate the president or his White House team. But since Flynn’s cooperation agreement with prosecutors was made public earlier this month, the administration has been strategizing how to neutralize him in case the former national security adviser does make any claims.

Flynn is the most senior former Trump adviser known to be providing information to Mueller’s team. The lenient terms of his plea agreement suggest he has promised significant information to investigators, legal experts said.

    ___________

That last sentence says it all. They wouldn’t be attacking Flynn now if he didn’t know anything. Trump wouldn’t have tried protecting him before if he didn’t know anything. Whatever it is has not as of yet leaked out. :chris:

^Flynn facing something like 60 years at the worst then being offered to cop plea for maybe six months suggests you're right, but I'd bet good money that none of that speculative dirt is directed at Trump.

Though don't let me dampen any hope (that I'd guess on this topic springs more eternal than the Steamboat Geyser on steroids with tap on full and an ocean-sized-reservoir source).

So far, as predicted, no sign of actual collusion, just the lying/obstruction angle forecast from the beginning of this partisan effort. Shame about all the other stuff that's been creeping out that's partisan in the other direction (steele dossier uranium one et al.).

I don't think Trump colluded...knowingly at least. His handlers...maybe...but not Trump.

You really think there's a there there with Uranium One?

Actually, what's depressing is the fact that Republicans are a minority in Congress so they can't launch hearings to bring Hilary to justice over such things. I mean, you remember in that debate where Trump said if he was elected President Hilary would be in jail?

It's just too bad that the Republicans didn't get control of Congress along with that of the White House. If they had, they might have been able to get some kind of special prosecutor approved to go after Hilary. Okay, so maybe they would have had to attach it to a bill that only Republicans would vote for because the Democrats would oppose it. But the Republicans would never vote for something that the American people were opposed to. Clearly, the sole reason why there hasn't been a full-scale investigation into things like Uranium One and Benghazi is because the Dems have such an overwhelming majority in Congress. Damn them! Just wait until after the 2018 elections when Republicans have a majority in Congress and can do what they want, and bring her to justice!

I am betting Trump did, after all he publicly asked for Putin's help multiple times during the campaign, and he has bent over backwards to suck Putin's cock since. I am sure he will pretend he didn't know but the campaign was so small at the top and he just has to know everything.

Typed by someone obviously nuance-impaired and unaware of the concept of political grandstanding and hyperbole. Good for you to remain so untainted and wide-eyed in your perceptions.

hint: even Trump knew Hillary will never spend even a day in jail, and a 'pee-tape' of Trump on the subject (if such a thing existed) would almost certainly have said as much.

The initial optics are certainly pretty foul. But time will tell whether there's more to it than just a bad smell only when portrayed in a certain light.

So much for swamp draining then. If Hillary is clearly guilty of a crime (or multiple crimes), then she ought to be in jail. Period. Paragraph. If the Republicans want to convince me that they are serious about cleaning up Washington, then they ought to put Hillary on trial, since they have been saying that she's guilty for so long.

I mean, you're not really doing anything about corruption in DC if the corrupt folks are still walking the streets. Yeah, sure, they may not hold office, but as ex-members of the government, they have greater access to Congress than other lobbyists do (and most ex-government officials end up as lobbyists, regardless of party). Where's the changes to the laws to get rid of them?

So far, with no investigation, it has been said:
Sounds about the same as the actual evidence of Trump collusion with Russia to impact the US prez. election prior to the appointment of Mueller. Reportedly, *that* investigation was started because Trump fired Comey. Yet apparently, according to every leftist who has opined, Trump is unstable and fires any one that looks wrongly at him on a whim.

I have no doubt a Uranium One criminal investigation (rather than, say, an ethic investigation) would achieve the same mileage I still predict we'll get at the end of the Mueller drive (obstruction, perjury) once you question enough handlers, aides, influence paddlers and middle-men.

[Similar to a long, drawn-out, non-investigation investigation of who leaked Plame's name, when Fitzgerald already knew beforehand that the leaker was Armitage. And Scooter went to jail, casualty of partisan politics.]

And yet you haven't expressed surprise that the new tax law passed and Pelosi's promised "Apocalypse" didn't transpire? Or was she sincerely informing all about one those slow-bake apocalypses, sort of an Apocalypse Later? Yeah, I think you probably know all about hyperbole and grandstanding. That is, when it suits your politics.

[Or wait, was it Armageddon? Probably. Is that more or less severe?]

Because everyone knows that the minute a tax bill designated for 2018 is signed, magic happens.

You didn't used to be so stupid. You're sliding downhill faster than your hero.

Shouldn't you be busy offshoring more of your assets instead of boring us here?

But the magic will happen. It started happening a year ago. The stock market went from gangbusters to absolutely ballistic. That's because of the potential of this tax bill. The middle class will also get more money in their pockets.

That's in the short term. In the long term, the tax cuts to the middle class will be undone in 2026 and the deficit will explode...but then is then and now is now.

It's because it would make the additional 1.5 trillion dollars to the deficit permanent....but they know that in 2026, the temporary tax cuts will be extended because nobody will want to let taxes increase (nevermind that it's not a tax increase), and the deficit will be the Democrat's fault. Easy peasy.

Putting aside retards like Garamet the answer lies in the CBO.

The way the CBO scores these things is not accurate and the result is if the tax cut was permanent than according to the CBO the whole country would catch fire and die.

And of course this causes retards like McCain, Collins, and other weakling GOP people to get cold feet and vote against the tax cut unless the tax cut has an expiration date on it.

Don't worry. When the tax cuts get ready to expire you will see movement to make them permanent.

The same thing happened with the Bush tax cuts. They were set to expire but Congress made them permanent and than Obama signed it into law making them permanent.

It's a cookie cutter issue for both sides. When those tax rates set to expire both sides are going to use it against each other and both sides are going to rush to make it permanent to take credit for it.

    1. I pay very little attention to what Pelosi says. I'm on record as having said that she should have retired years ago.

    2. You also appear to be admitting that Trump has no intention of draining the swamp.

    3. Any rational person would know that it's unlikely to see much impact from the tax bill (either positive or negative) until it actually goes into effect. Especially one where there's considerable disagreement (even among those in favor of it) as to what the various provisions mean.

    4. The reason I haven't expressed surprise at the passage of the tax bill is because I knew that the Republicans were likely to pass something, simply because they hold the majority in both houses of Congress. Need I point out that my Senator, Corker, was a crucial vote in getting it to pass?

The tax bill was going to get done b/c if there is one thing that unites Republicans it is the need to pay off their donors. As soon as the Kochs cut off funding after the failure to repeal Obamacare a wealth transfer from the lower and middle classes to the extreme wealthy was a given.
