When you kill a communist, on the street, for saying something stupid, be sure to take pics and post them here. Otherwise, it didn't happen and you're just an internet tough guy spouting nonsense.
I repeat, depends. "That guy is an (ethnic slur)" vs "that guy is an (ethnic slur) and I'm going to burn his house down".
All right, so UA, Lanz, and Jenee are for a rigid code all the way up to it being a suicide pact. This is why rigid codes don't work.
Do you realize you just justified a cop shooting someone on sight if they have a record of violence with weapons and are saying belligerent things? Stand by for some tortured rationalizing.
1. Don't initiate violence against others. 2. Call the authorities to report a person you think credibly dangerous. 3. If attacked, defend yourself until you can remove yourself from the scene or the threat is ended. The dangerous trend in our politics is our constant framing of anyone with an opposing viewpoint as an absolute evil and threat, thus absolving us of moral limitations in dealing with them.
If someone doesn't want to get punched, they should put as much time and effort as possible into hand-to-hand combat training so they can effectively block incoming punches. People get punched sometimes, it's a fact of life, and it's not anyone else's fault if someone isn't prepared to take or evade a punch.
I can't take a punch. I was the runt of the litter. Smallest of 7 children. I will stand my ground and argue against the largest of foes. Then cry like a baby if he hits me. Just ask any of my brothers or sisters or brothers in law. Just don't ask my sister in law cuz she's a bitch.
I'd say I have UA, but he has forbidden me to talk shit to strangers when he's around. He doesn't like to fight.
There are times when it is legally permissible to initiate force. Sorry, but it just is. Usually, it involves a threat. In the absence of other factors, saying, "I'm going to kick your butt." is NOT a threat in and of itself. Saying, "I'm going to kick your butt." while waving a clenched fist or brandishing a weapon that would make a reasonable person fear for their safety IS a threat. For something to be a threat, you have to communicate that threat AND demonstrate a means of carrying it out. Now, the law gets a little squirrely when you add in other factors and potentially serious crimes, like arson. So, for those playing the home game, if you walk up to me and say, "I'm going to kill you" and you have a gun in your hand, I'm going to put as many .45" holes in you as I can, as fast as I can. The other party did not initiate force in any realistic sense, but they did threaten me, and I think a reasonable person would have been in fear of imminent great bodily harm.
The scenario is, a Nazi exists. He's out and about. and any one of these internet tough guys thinks it's ok to just punch him out of the blue.
This is why I don't understand how a crowd screaming "Hang Mike Pence", brought the gallows to do it, and charged the building where Mike Pence was at didn't get napalmed.
Is there a specific instance of Nazi-punching that iniated this tangent? Each situation is unique and depends on the facts. You can't just run up to someone and punch them without provocation, but as @Elwood and @Spaceturkey pointed out, you sure as shit can take action if they're making threats or actively harming you/someone else.
Change the composition of the crowd from white real estate developers from Texas and white ex-USAF Colonels to a bunch of black entrepreneurs from Compton and the whole national mall would have been glassed. If someone wants to prove me wrong, I really, really, really wish they would.
If that's not the argument you are making, what are you arguing about? Have you attempted to define your position - other than wildly outrageous scenarios? Put forth a realistic scenario in which you feel "punching Nazis" is justifiable.
I figure just about anything that ends in "ism" when talking about economics is bad. But, there are certain degrees of "bad" that mankind has proven more than willing to suffer.
Is it regional celebrity, "Helmet Guy"? Well known for showing up with one on his head the other in hand to swing when the yellow vest vs antifa demos happen here? Nobody is saying walk up to random assholes, call them a nazi, and then punch'em. Quite the opposite in practice-be ready and capable of responding to violence with violence is.
For at least 6 years, you guys have been saying "punch nazis". UA has been saying you can just walk up to some random asshole and punch them. and you guys argue with him. Tell us about Helmet Guy. What he has done. and provide a realistic scenerio in which you believe he should be punched. You might be surprised at who agrees with you.
Right, but what if a bunch of brown shirts with "I'm a Nazi" tattooed on their foreheads are marching around chanting "Jews will not replace us", but that's it? That's all they're doing. Not running over anybody, not breaking shit. Just marching and chanting racist shit.
UA responded to this post in the meme thread and the comments commenced. I split them off because the meme thread is for meme-ing, not endless yakking.
it's been my experience that little happens during the demos... it's afterwards when the two sides have dispersed. there's a great video a few years ago of the alt righties chasing down someone they recognized as opposing them at that afternoon's shenanigans. about six of them started bootfucking him in a mall-and then went after the security drones who tried to intervene. contrast that to the one I took down. when his buddies started aiming kicks at both of us, I made sure to protect HIS head so he didn't inadvertently get curb stomped.
