As soon as I find me a Detroit Tigers ballcap I will be snapping the obligatory Magnum PI picture. Complete with short SEAL Team shorts.
The moment you've all waited for. Lethe Emotes. >< Behold as masses of Skullman clones attack this board.
Like....and American hot dog!!! Except, they brought it to me on a silver platter, all dressed up like the fanciest of fancy feasts! no joke!
Shakes: Allow me to introduce to you federal agent Jack Bauer, the toughest, baddest action hero ever:
Sitting on the front steps on the one warm evening this week. The twig is the top of our rose bush in winter mode. It's actually quite nice when it doesn't look dead.
Well. I went to download my pictures only to discover that I don't seem to have put my download software on my laptop. Trying to find it online now. [made it.]
OK. Some pictures from Pearl Harbor. A couple shots from the Bowfin, a WWII US sub, some from the USS Missouri (sadly only one pic from the command center turned out any good. ), and a few panoramic shots. First off, a pic of the Arizona Memorial and Big Mo from the stern of the Bowfin: Then, a conning tower they had set up on the grounds of the Bowfin museum (for insurance and practical reasons you can't get into the conning tower of the actual boat): Next the Missouri from the memorial above the Arizona bridge (the #2(?) turret's remains are protruding from the water): aaaand...the reverse view--looking from the bridge of the Mo back at the Arizona memorial: More pics later. There's pics of a huuuge steel "bunker" on the bridge of the Missouri, a pic from Big Mo's command center (sadly, only one turned out--the cool ones are all blurry ), a couple shots from the deck (amazingly I didn't get a shot of the location of the Japanese surrender ), and two pictures of the Captain's cabin. I should've took pics of some of the crew berthing as a contrast. You squids will boggle at the captain's quarters. Oh, and I've got pics of the Bowfin's engine room and its aft torpedo room, along with maybe a couple other pics.
I went aboard the Missouri a couple times as a kid back when she was mothballed at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. Pearl Harbor is the best place for her, though.
That's the conning tower or "citadel". The armor there is 17.3". Almost as much as the turret face and hull front of an M1...
