Usually it's the right that re-brands the left. Liberal became progressive when George HW Bush kept talking about "dangerous liberals," back in '88. Note how Castle not only confuses the reason but also the time line. The guy doesn't know shit. Furthermore, liberal (which has regained respectability) and progressive aren't even claimed by the same group. Most of us who call ourselves liberal are neo-classical liberals (think Adam Smith), whereas progressives are more interested in social justice by government intervention. My son (stationed in Korea) can't wait to get stationed here in the good old U.S. A. where he can buy and shoot an AR-15 or equivalent.
My family loves venison, and can't wait for me to bag a few deer come September. I shoot my bow all day in my backyard and my neighbors don't get their knickers in a twist over it.
My future son in law and family hunt and even belong to a gun club.
