    Seriously, WTF?

I can't find any confirmation online, but a friend told me he was at a local hobby shop yesterday, and they told him they were dumping all their AirSoft merchandise because of this law.

    Geez, man, they're TOYS. :wtf:

So was Laser Tag, and that had a hard time making it out of the 80's because of one retarded cop, one dead kid, and a bunch of "concerned parents".

Anti-gun people hate anything even resembling a gun, even if you just make one with your hands or make something remotely resembling the shape of one. Is it really surprising they'd go after what are essentially working models of guns that look almost exactly like the real thing?

Indeed. How can you brainwash the masses into thinking that guns are evil unless you lump all images, imitations, replicas, chewed Pop Tarts, representations etc. of guns into the same group?
Sad really the way these pussies think. Thank goodness I live in Georgia. My son wants to buy a 9 mil pistol. In a couple of months when he visits again and has the cash, we take
our happy asses down to Academy Sports, he picks one out, they run the background check and (barring any bench warrants we don't know about) he leaves with a gun.
He's proven himself to be a responsible citizen - why would anyone want to infringe on this?

The only reason I don't own a gun is I live in a subdivision, and can't step out my back door and practice when I want to. Fuck going to the range!
Thus I shoot a longbow - nobody can hear it unless it's the last sound they never hear (assuming they are a bad guy).

Yeah, uh, you'd think a store that carries the items in question would have a little more knowledge of the information than you suggest?

Forbin is right. There is legislation being proposed to ban airsoft in NJ. It's 3am and I don't feel like going to the chicken coop to find the article.

    Thank you.
If you can find a link, please post it. I can't find anything. Even the ANJRPC site has nothing yet.

There's no such thing as "just being paranoid" to NJ gun owners.

Am I missing something? That's an FAQ on using a Pellet Gun to hunt, not a ban on AirSoft.

You have to be 10 to hunt even small game in NJ? We have 5 year old kids killing deer here in Georgia. Of course they have adult supervision.

Point of that entry being the definition of a firearm - in NJ, it's anything that launches a projectile out a of a barrel, via explosion, gas, air or spring.
That includes airsoft and BB guns.

My town is like that - you can't shoot a firearm (bb gun included) within city limits. Many towns have this ordinance. I can shoot a hunting bow in my backyard all day.
Which you most people rather be hit with?

Define Air Gun, according to the NJ code. Is a nerf gun an air gun, why or why not? If you can't answer that, how does AirSoft qualify as a firearm under the NJ code?
