Robert Lee Yates, killed 16 women. Thought the Bible and his deep-seated Christian faith commanded him to do it, cleansing the prostitutes and so on. Clearly all Christians are serial-killing psychotics, right?

Google him, he's a pretty well known serial killer. Actually, most American serial killers have been inspired by Christianity. Funny, that.

How many Christian serial killers who killed in the name of their religion have we had in the hundred years?

How many Muslim serial killers/terrorists who killed in the name of their religion have we had in the hundred years?

That's all we need to know. Not all of either religion are evil but the comparison is :fail: (yes, smilie in your dishonor).

    :diaf: :)

You want to change the topic to how many people of X religion have killed in the name of their religion?

Well fuck, you just fingered a large portion of the American military as religious terrorists. :marathon:

While we're at it, what about the pogroms carried out against Palestinians in the name of Israeli manifest destiny?

Could it be that there's some commonality here? That maybe people are violent, cruel animals who will use any justification for their atrocities?

Maybe those atrocities do not stem from the religions. Perhaps you're confusing an ancillary coincidence for a cause.

^ Funny, the only country with a policy of Manifest Destiny is the US.

The rest of your post is so stupid as to not even require a response.

The US has a policy of manifest destiny, now? :marathon:

How else would you describe the idea that Israel has a right to all the Palestinian lands? God's will? :marathon:

Please show me any Israeli document or statement (I don't mean from private individuals unrelated to gov't policy) that states a claim of any such right.

As for the US, as they have already achieved manifest destiny by killing and kicking out all the indiginous people, it's kind of ridiculous to say they don't have the policy now. We're living it.

The guy was a Seventh-Day Adventist...a kinda creepy cult of personality that is based around a plagiarist and a hypocrite. Not average Christianity. And even so, there are no teachings to go and kill in it's name at all.

Not only that, serial killers are fucking sick in the head...they would be killing even if it was a planet full of atheists. They would just kill in the name of global climate change or politics instead. Whatever they can pass off as justification, they will.

While I'm not a fan of any organized religion, here is the difference between Christianity and Islam:

Christianity - "Thou shalt not kill". Murder is a mortal sin and you go to Hell. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Islam -- Convert, subjagate or kill all infidels. Killing during a holy jihaad sends you straight to Heaven with 72 virgins waiting to give you blowjobs for all eternity.

So, which religion fosters more mass murderers?

Exactly!! Christians who kill are violating their religions. Muslims who kill are keeping it.

    No comparison here.

Yeah, because that's a full and accurate portrayal of Christian beliefs, particularly in relation to killing.

    Utterly risible.

I think there's a huge difference between some sick fuck that think that offing hookers is doing God's work and some ordinary guy that get's told by his religious leader that he's doing God's work by strapping some TNT to his chest and walking onto a bus.

Most serial killers in the U.S. are white males as well.

But I feel no guilt over being a white male.

The difference between the Christian who kills and the Muslem who kills?

The Christian's priest/minister/reverend/preacher would advise him against it.

You think Fred Phelps would advise against that?

One religious authority figure (whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim or Hindu) supporting murder does not mean that the religion is murderous by nature.

How exactly do you think this differs from terrorists who happen to be Muslim?

I dunno. Can you think of anyone Fred Phelps has actually killed or had killed?
Good. Then Christianity is forgiven for the Pope's excesses in the Middle Ages.

    Right?
Serial killers kill in an environment where society all but universally condemns what they do. What they do is repugnant to those around them.

What Muslem terrorists do is all but universally condoned. What they do is heroic to those around them.

Serial killers are an exception in any society. Terrorists are legion in Muslem society. That's the difference.

    I'll wait.

Show me where it says in the Christian Bible that killing is okay. It has to come from the New Testament that deals with Christianity, not the Old Testament before Christianity.

    Dunno.

Have you ever seen a town celebrate a local serial killer?

Now, have you ever seen a town celebrate terrorists?

    [?=Palestinians on 9/11][IMG][/?]

Do you suppose Jeffrey Dahmer or John Wayne Gacy or ted Bundy were ever as popular in their societies as Osama bin Laden was in his?

OK. If we're going to make the case that those people are garden variety Xtians, and the behavior and impetus are intrinsic to the system of belief, do we also cite Green Peace, Sea Shepherd, ELF, Earth First and other organizations of that stripe (all of which have been tied to what could reasonably be called "acts of terrorism") as Atheist/Agnostic/Liberal terrorists?

Isn't that really Cupcake's point? That it's Xtianity which is to blame, and not sociopathy or some other pathology?
