Mace Windu was actually in the original script back in the 70s, so anything is possible. But personally, I don't think Disney wants to tie much of the sequel trilogy to the prequels.

Snoke isn't Mace Windu. If he were people would be asking why Sam Jackson was replaced with an Englishman.

I doubt anything so complicated or convoluted will come out of the writers....

I think this is the crux of it.

In the link it also says Finn displayed force sensitivity......I didn't get that at all from TFA, nothing he did indicated he had force sensitivity did it?

Agreed. He handled the light saber well enough, but presumably because he had training in hand to hand combat. He never once demonstrates anything other than high skill proficiency and intelligence. Neither of those imply force sensitivity.

Might have to get ahold of the novel and see what it says.

I read the novelization and have no recollection of Finn having any force awareness.

I'm watching it now, it's mostly tearing apart Star Wars Ring Theory and attempts to make the prequels look good.

So, that was long. He basically made the same points everyone else has made, good jumping off point, but episode 8 needs to be different.

What did you expect? Mike and Rich (who write the reviews) liked TFA based off the Half in the Bag review. Rich's only complaint was that the movie played it safe. I never expected him to tear into it like he did the prequels. TFA was a decent and entertaining movie. It didn't take any risks, but one could argue that they didn't really have a choice at that point. I just hope that Episode VIII actually goes in a different direction than a retread of ESB.

Only about half of the review actually talked about The Force Awakens. The first half was mainly condoning the current state of Hollywood franchise movies mixed with more ripping on George Lucas and fan theories.

An entertaining review but not as good as the original trilogy of reviews.

    Meh, it was weak.
You can tell they only did it cuz the fans begged for it.
Fans begged for Michael Myers to come back to the Halloween franchise, and Halloween 4 up to the Rob Zombie ones were all festering garbage.
Fans didn't want Spock to die in "Khan".
    Fans aren't always right.

    This.

Also, what Dicky and BizarroEnt said.

There wasn't much material to work with to even get it to a half hour review, let alone a full length theatrical length video. The only new thing I learned is George Lucas has a two year old daughter with wife #2, which....congrats to him for that.

Although, if he really needed to do another Plinkett video, Star Trek into Darkness was a far better target than Episode 7.

People were probably on them too much to do Star Wars. Of course in a way they actually did both by constantly referencing the Abrams Trek movies.

I'd love to see a review of the Matrix sequels or some other movie we were all really hyped for but ended up being a huge letdown..

So, I watched the review again, and it's a bit better on a second viewing. I noticed they toned down the creepy persona a bit (no hooker in the basement this time).

I laughed at the clip where Lucas said he was "ahead of his time" for making an all black film with Red Tails  I mean, his current wife is black. How do you fuck it up that badly?

By becoming exactly the kind of rich, out of touch studio head that he hated when he first became a filmmaker?

I agree with what others have said. Why bother spending an hour debunking some shitty theory that appeared on the internet?

He got a couple of digs at Star Trek Into Darkness. "Embarrassing" is the right word.

They probably did it since most of the fanbase was asking for it.

As Dicky said, fans are wrong.

It's kinda ironic, given Plinkett ripped into Lucas for caving to fans and zeroing in so hard on Anakin as the center of Star Wars.

OTOH, the review is a bit more tolerable if you see it as more of a reflection of the state of the franchise as a whole post-Lucas sellout than as a hard review of TFA. And I too would like reviews on the Matrix trilogy. Plenty of ripe shit to get into there.
