People still use bookmarks? I either just memorize a domain name, or leave a tab open.

This kind of stuff REALLY makes me question your higher education.

Just throwing up random graphs and maps during a monologue IS NOT the same as citing sources for an argument. Not once does he stop to explain where the graphs come from or how they relate to his point. He just relies on a credulous audience not asking such questions and being all OMG MAPS! GRAPHS! WHAT HE SAYS I LIKE! IT TRUE!

There are enough echoes of our current situation with the collapse of the Late Bronze Age to give one pause. While the world was a smaller place in terms of trade and communication, the fact that what seemed to be a stable and prosperous "world" order fell apart in a relative eyeblink. I highly recommend going to Youtube and looking up Dr. Eric Cline's lectures on the Late Bronze Age Collapse. As he points out many of the same factors that he believes contributed to the Late Bronze Age collapse are present today. While he doesn't make any gloom and doom predictions there are enough similarities to make a thoughtful person somewhat uneasy. As Mark Twain posited, history may not repeat itself, but it does rhyme. Being aware that the factors that could lead to such collapse are in place are the necessary first step to preventing it...if it can be prevented. Cline also points out that out of the rubble of the Late Bronze Age Collapse vibrant new civilizations emerged. Understanding the ebbs and flows of history helps give context to where we are today. Thus endeth my lecture. :carryon:

The government telling FB what to allow on their platform isn’t censorship? I bet if it were Trump, you’d say it was.

well, according to the Cato institute, it's okay if Trump does it on truthsocial, so...

and yeah, way back before you were crawling, we had ZERO tolerance for nazi shit on here due to the server being in Austria.

60+ years and gosh golly, they're still a little leary of letting that can of worms be opened. go figure.

    Point of order:

The UK is sacrificing itself on the alter of the Ghost of Maggie Thatcher while everyone except the radicals here that thing Farange is a genius watch in horror.

I agree that, depending on the next 2-3 election cycles we could follow them down, but we've managed to get through two very critical cycles and not entirely lose our grip and as an economic matter, Biden has gotten magnificent results when it would have been so easy to fuck up.

If they started tomorrow it would take the Brits a decade to even stop the decline. The Tories have REALLY fucked them, and pandering to the TERFs ain't gonna save them.
