you're working today? Damn I said the "W" word during my three day - now I have to chill even harder to get that out of my head. Don't hate!
The fence had ALREADY had it before the wind storm last night. This branch came from 100 feet up and about 50 feet to the left.
My neighbor has a salt lick out. There's always a few deer hanging around. He has a trail cam set up. In the middle of the burbs (well, 1 mile from the Ramapo Mountains), he gets pix of deer, bear, coyote, foxes, woodchucks...
cool! I saw a grey fox earlier today when I was deer hunting after work. I run across them every now and again - I'd like to have one as a pet! No pics because it was slipping past me for only a few seconds and I don't carry a camera with me anyway.
Cooked pork shoulder for the first time in several years, so I was a little out of practice. The meat reached the "stall" point later than I anticipated and with guests arriving sooner rather than later, I pushed past it too quick, causing the apple juice I'd been spritzing on the meat to caramelize a little too much. It turned out fine, though, and tasted great. I'm looking forward to making sandwiches with the leftovers for the next couple of days.
At least it was amusing when he tried stepping on the overhanging part and fell off. Now I know why the tarp is on the deck sometimes.
I started building the reissue of the old AMT Mr. Spock-with-snakes kit. I decided I didn't have the patience to deal with the scales on that 3-headed snake and having to recarve them at all the seams. So... http://www.inpayne.com/models/figures/amtspock.html I used a resin replacement head and hands by JTResin in place of the kit ones that looked more like that Romulan defector from that TNG episode. And yeah, I can't paint face for shit, but I have fun trying.
Piletated!! I hear their call all the time, but I rarely get to see one in the yard. On another note, I'd left my camera on 12MP instead on 24MP because I shot an event at work and didn't want to overload the file server, so this could be better. And I think I need a better lens than a 300mm zoom to get decent pix of birds across the yard anyway.
these woodpeckers have a "call?" The only noise I've ever heard them make is BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM...…...BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM....etc.
The newest stray rescue. We're hoping we can domesticate him, but it's been a challenge. He has trust issues. /sarcasm BTW, he's 6 months old and over ten pounds...so...we'll see. Edit: I was wrong about the age. He was eight months in that picture.
Well, shit. I was hoping it wouldn't snow until Christmas - ya know, AFTER I never have to drive in it again.
Was this just before night, Or early in morning? If the former, delight. If the latter, take warning.
The newest cat, Mr. Binx man-spreading. He's like nine months old and already well over ten pounds. BTW, this was him four months ago.
Executed by my coworker George. I've been doing everyone else's retirement posters for so long, he came up with the theme of me doing my own a la Rockwell.
