Anybody old enough to have watched the Space Angel cartoons? Somebody came out with a nice resin kit of the Starduster.
Dude! I LOVED Space Angel as a kid. Talk about a show that is just screaming for the big-budget movie treatment . . . Tune in again next time for another exciting adventure with Scott McCloud, SPACE ANGEL!!!
true, but many cartoons from that era (The Flintstones? Rocky & Bullwinkle? Clutch Cargo?) were shown on TV in syndication for many years after. But I've never seen Space Angel for some reason.
Posted this in the meme thread, but I love the look he's giving me here. He carried that bone around for close to an hour.
So my niece's German Shepherd had a... pile... of pups. Her chicken doesn't know quite what to make of it. (That's 3 out of 8 pups!)
This company is keeping the sign makers busy. The first pic is archeological - it's the original ITT logo that was under the Harris sign when they took it down. The other ITTs are just random logo changes. Then ITT fell apart and our division became Exelis around 2012 Then Harris bought Exelis in 2015. Then L3 merged with Harris in July. Oy.
so I guess I am alone in wondering: 1) where did the dog get that bone? 2) who did the bone belong to? 3) how long before CSI comes knocking on your door?
First phase of The Awesome Van is done. Still lots to do, but it can run errands and looks pretty cool. Hard to see in the photo, but my one bit of eccentricity was to add an Autobot trailer hitch. After much mulling with Scorp on Facebook, I've decided to give it the Transformer name "Blacktop."
there's an store near me with a stamped tin version. I'll try and get a picture (if I don't buy it myself) in a few days.
great job on the hummingbird! You get about two seconds before they zip off at a gazillion miles an hour. You timed that perfectly. I have yellow finches (first pic) like that in my yard quite often.
Not bad, especially if you're using the "kit" 300 that comes with those entry-level Nikon DSLRs. I recently purchased another one because the one that came with my camera took a fall onto asphalt. It's cheap, cheap glass that always seems to make for slightly fuzzy pics, but you can't expect much from a $135 lens. Just remember to keep the shutter speed set higher than the focal length number and any fuzziness won't be caused by camera shake.
I make no claims of greatness! I'm just a normal guy. Auto is all I can handle. More of those two from just now:
Never saw a hummingbird until I moved to SoCal. Then they used to nest in the huge tree in our courtyard. I put up a feeder and they'd hum around the patio, practically right up to the sliding doors. (Also used to shit their little green shits on the doors, but nevermind.) But the tree had to be cut down because it developed some sort of disease and hasn't been replaced. Still see them around the neighborhood, especially in the rainy season.
That goldfinch is pretty, but the little fucker is ripping all the petals of my wife's zinnias to get at whatever's under them. There's a sad pile of pink petals on the ground and a bunch of bare flower... knobs.
Rare afternoon off on the road. Even the most maligned cities in the U.S. have their bright spots. Baltimore, MD. Toured the USS Constellation and an old WWII- 50's era diesel sub, and enjoyed a Jameson at Tir na Nog.
