Not really, but it is interesting how Tara is not to be believed, but it is really common and we should believe victims because shit like this does actually happen a lot especially with dominant male figures. Like I said the dem party seems really attracted to their rapey guys. Bloomberg, Biden, and cuomo? It sounds like then need to do a little house cleaning and get their better people up in front.

I've seen plenty of calls from the Dems for Cuomo to step down...

And for all the men asking why should we believe all women when it comes to rape because they could be lying: why would they lie, they know how people like you will react...
IIRC the last high profile rape case where the accuser lied was the Duke Lacrosse team scandal and that was in 2006...

Shouldn't people work hard at their job and take pride in their work despite their pay?

If the boss wants a motivated and hard working employee they will pay wages to get a motivated and hard working employee.

Why should someone do hard work for crappy pay?

Considering you've never held gainful employment, it's not surprising you wouldn't know what it's like to work hard and take pride in your work. Maybe it's just me and the way I was raised.

Many reasons. For one, it's just the right thing to do, IMO. I was raised that way, to work hard and take pride in my work, no matter what. Another reason may be to stand out above your coworkers, get noticed. Get a raise, get a promotion. Be a leader, show others the right way to do the job, lead by example. Show management your worth. Because, in my experience, you're never going to get anywhere by just doing the bare minimum to get by. You're always going to be stuck in your low wage job because nobody ever expects anything of you and they never see potential in you so they never think of you when it comes time for raises, you get passed over. Also I'm sure you've heard the saying, nothing ever worth doing is going to be easy. I find this to be true pretty much all of the time. If none of that is good enough, then here's a short article on why you should work hard. I shouldn't have to explain these things to you though.

Then you should hate Donald Trump enough to quit the Republican party, because he had everything handed to him, and he's their standard bearer now even after he's gone.

Anyone who thinks hard work is the key to success is a rube. Outside of actual genius (which most of us do not possess) the key to success is the ability to bullshit other people. To schmooze. To play politics. This is why mediocrity so often rises to the top. It's about personality, not work ethic.

As an individual contributor climbing the ladder of corporate success, I can tell you that knowledge or potential knowledge - as well as hard work, has very little to do with whether or not a person gets a job. It's about how well they can bullshit their way through an interview. This has not only been told to me many times by many managers and mentors, but I've also seen the evidence when someone gains a a new job.

Hard work is the fire in which low wage earners burn.

I’m not a member of the Republican Party. Can’t quit what I don’t belong to. Also, I got no love for Trump and he’s gone now anyway. He occupies very little real estate in my mind.

Hard work doesn't hurt your chances of success, but it's usually not instrumental. Hard work always leading to success is the Great American Myth.

The term "hard work" is misleading. I can tell you from 40+/- years of work experience that the harder I work, the lower my pay.

The "hard work" is learning to navigate the corporate world. Things that I am unwilling to do. I will not lie about myself or my abilities. I will not dress up or otherwise alter my appearance (i.e. makeup, manicure, hair-do[is that even a word anymore]) I will not play games. Also, I will not sacrifice my integrity so someone higher up the chain of command can look good on paper. This last has caused me (and managers) all kinds of frustration over the last 10+/- years. But, in the end, sticking to what I know is right is why I was able to not only keep my job, but it's why I've been promoted. And, believe me, it had nothing to do with hard work. It had to do with stubbornness, plenty of ego (on my part) and the constant threat of impending dismissal. This is why I am counting the days before I can retire.

That’s unfortunate because the hiring manager probably lets a lot of fuckups through the cracks. So glad I don’t work in the corporate world.
