Both are racist because getting ID has been made particularly difficult for minorities. Make ID easily available and free and you'll not hear a peep out of me.

Until that happens, I'm somewhat less cut up about folk not being able to get a gun than I am about them not being able to vote.

For some, it's monumental. But, since the you tubers you listen to think is as easy as 123, then anyone saying otherwise is lying. So, why bother to ask?

Well, we know VP Harris thinks Kinkos still exists and she thinks it's nearly impossible to photocopy you're ID even though even the poorest person in the country has a smart phone and even the most Mayberry Podunk town has a library where you can get free copies so you tell me.

It's not hard to get where I'm from but in the USA it seems your government, notably Republicans, intentionally make it difficult for minorities, old people and poor people to get ID

Of course this could be corrected with one fell swoop at the state level but for some reason Republicans don't want to do that

Personally I think you should have to show ID to vote (we do here) but at the same time ID needs to be easily obtainable at a minimal cost. Which is entirely possible, yet isn't done. For some reason....

 

Didn't Kinkos merge with FedEx some time ago? And Staples and Office Depot both have copy centers, last I checked.

No, we're talking about someone who made a comment about something she either doesn't know what she's talking about or is lying about it. Race and sex didn't even factor into my post and the discussion is about voter ID, do try and keep up.

The only sites I can find saying Harris is wrong about access to photocopying (her mistake on a company that has been bought out notwithstanding - easy enough mistake unless you pay slavish attention to the constant deaths/consumptions of corporations) are right-wing sources. Would anyone like to show that she actually is incorrect?

 

I always hated the "show your work" stinger on test questions.

 

No one calls Fedex Office "Fedex Office", not even the people who work at any other part of Fedex (and some who do work there do too). Everyone who's not a total pedant or paid to do otherwise still calls it Kinkos. I *am* a total pedant and still call it Kinkos.

 

Thanks - hence my query. Our local village shop was owned by the Co-Op. It's since been Nisa and now Heritage. Everyone still calls it the Co-Op, since that's a traditional name from our youth.

 

I guess I must be an evil person like VP Harris, because I didn't even know that Kinko's was no more.

 

I only just started calling it FedEx Office within the past couple of years and that's only due to sheer repetition of having to go there to ship stuff or get printing jobs done for work.

 

I don't even like Harris, and this kind of thing is such a non-issue. I don't care who likes what or eats what or visits wherever, or wears what designer clothes, I genuinely don't. I get angry at how people are treated, at policies that hurt others, these things matter to me, so this whole "Harris doesn't even know Kinko's doesn't exist anymore" is such silliness. I thought the same thing when Trump was in office. "He's orange!" Yeah? I didn't give a shit, I care more about the fact that he was a raging bigot and pushed bigoted policies. His hair, his clothes, his walk, his complexion, they mean jack shit. What a person does matters far, FAR more important than what they look like.
