The thread fell well within BR rules as it was intended and was actually getting some discussion until Tamar closed it.

The warning should be rescinded and the thread reopened IMHO.

It's my understanding that it's a non trolling and flaming forum and that everything stays in the BR unless the OP declares Red Room Rules.

And I'm still waiting for an explanation as to how I trolled in the AW thread.

But I see your point. Bailey was allowed to troll me in his sig for months. When any of the rest of us do that, we get a warning or, at least, a PM telling us to fix it or else. Granted that situation was finally resolved, but it happened.

Look. I don't linger in the Blue Room much...there was a complaint and I followed up on it with the understanding that there is no tolerance for crap in the Blue Room...even so I thought it mild and issued a friendly and closed what was clearly not BR material.

As for Demiurge...I have no idea what you're talking about there, Dickynoo...I don't go in the Blue Room unless I'm updating my blog, checking Nova's blog or following up a complaint.

A little common sense should have prevailed over hand wringing. There should not have been any warning at all and the thread should have been allowed to continue its progression as long as it stayed within the rules of the forum. Might have gotten some interesting discussion, might not.

Yes, the person starting the thread in the Blue Room can ask for/declare Red Room rules for that thread. Hopefully they'll also remember to use the right thread icon, too.

A friendly warning is just that...a reminder that what was posted didn't belong there...and it did not. At the very best that is a Media Central discussion and doesn't belong in the Blue Room...I closed it instead of moving it so you could keep your gag as it was still there, though closed.

If I was the jackbooted thug you imply, the thread would have been moved, you would have been given a full warning and kicked out of the Blue Room for misuse....that what the kind of moderating we left TBBS over...not something like this. Perspective...let's try and keep some.

If you want TNZ rules, post in TNZ. If you want to post at WF, leave the TNZ shit over at TBBS.

This board was founded on a very different set of principles than TNZ. Indeed, because of TNZ. We left and we never looked back. This board was intended to be fun without being tedious.

Occasionally, "mission creep" sets in over here and we have to remind everyone about all that.

I've wondered that as well. And I would think that after a while, to the mods it should be a bit more like crying wolf.

My reported posts are legitimate.

As reticent as I am to tweak or add new rules to this place, I'd seriously consider only taking reports on Blue Room threads by the thread's "owner". I mean, yeah, if I started a "14th Doctor is a..." thread, then someone else would be able to report it. But if I'm posting about my own life and a friend makes a wisecrack comment that I understand is a joke, why should some busybody come in to "protect" me?

At any rate, I'd certainly give a lot less weight to people sticking their noses into places, looking to be offended and armchair moderators.

Heck, I'd be tempted to issue warnings for unfounded tattling.

No, they're not. Not trying to troll or flame here, just stating my opinion, but IMHO the vast majority of your post reporting is nothing but childish tattling and the above mentioned post reporting wars.

I dunno if it should be a warning. A friendly, I could certainly accept, but if it's between a friendly and just closing it, I'd choose to do the one that causes the least amount of drama. And oh, look, this thread is now 60 replies long. Was this a case where it merited a friendly? That is debatable.
