Dammit, I was in the middle of writing most of that. It would have been nice if Archer had started out as a tough jock military guy thinking Starfleet was going to be the space version of the Navy or Air Force, then setting out, immediately getting in over his head, and realizing that the nerds like Hoshi, Travis, and Trip were the most useful and important people out on the frontier.
"The Outrageous Okona". Okay, set detail thing. After Riker and Troi's bridge chairs, there are these little nugget benches. The "Picard" Ent-D bridge replicates them. Here they've added on bits of bent sheet metal to extend the nuggets into full doctor/dentist waiting room benches. They're better seats, but they're ugly, I see why they ripped them out.
I don't get the hate for this episode. I mean, forget about the love triangle. The idea of a guy out there just moving from place to place and making a living while doing it. The space version of living in a van down by the river. or Firefly without the crew.
Winn's fall from slimy political evil to Saturday cartoon evil used to bug me....until Trump happened, and the Republican party got on board for his shit. Yes, slimeballs will really go cartoon evil in a heartbeat. Turns out that shit is accurate. The DS9 writers room had a fucking crystal ball on loan from Bewitched.
Well …, the difference being is that she knew the Pah-wraiths were evil. Most modern US Christians still think they are doing good.
Beatles songs but the TNG writers are writing the titles: "The Lane" "The Submarine" "Assistance" "Jude" "The Hammer" "The Eight Days" "The Reclusive Rigby"
Bewitched witches are basically Q. Q was weakened in Picard season 2, because he lost a fight with Samantha.
Write a The Beatles song title in the style of a Star Trek episode title "The Long and Winding Journey" could be a Star Trek episode title in the style of "The Measure of a Man" or "The Inner Light." "Across the Universe" - "Journey Beyond the Stars" "Across the Multiverse: A Beatles Odyssey" "The Long and Winding Road" becomes "The Perilous Journey Along the Twisty Interstellar Pathways" Write a Star Trek episode title using The Beatles song titles "A Hard Day's Night Shift: Twist and Shout at the Edge of the Universe" I think "A Hard Days Night Shift" would be another take on "Lower Decks" This is getting interesting! "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" - The crew of the Enterprise encounters a strange, diamond-shaped object in space that leads them on a surreal journey into a parallel dimension. Write an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation using lyrics by The Beatles Title: "Yesterday's Memories" Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the Enterprise-D find themselves in a mysterious region of space where the laws of physics seem to be malfunctioning. As they investigate, they come across a planet where the inhabitants seem to be living in a perpetual state of the past, reliving the same memories over and over again. Upon beaming down to the planet, Picard and his team discover that the planet's sole inhabitant, a lonely old man, has been using a powerful alien artifact to recreate his fondest memories of the past. The man, who turns out to be a former Starfleet officer, has been stuck in this time loop for years, unable to move on from his past and embrace the present. As the Enterprise crew attempts to break the time loop and free the man from his prison of memories, they sing a rendition of The Beatles' classic hit "Yesterday", hoping to connect with the man and help him let go of his past. The song proves to be a powerful tool, as the man finally realizes that he cannot live in the past forever and must embrace the present and the future. With the help of the Enterprise crew, the man is able to break free of the time loop and start anew, leaving behind his painful memories and embracing the possibilities of the future. As the Enterprise departs the planet, the crew reflects on the power of memories and the importance of living in the present, knowing that they have helped to make a difference in someone's life.
Oh man, this is one of the best episodes of Discovery ever written. Write an episode of Star Trek: Discovery where the crew doesn't cry. Title: The Stoic Discovery Fade in: The USS Discovery is on a mission to investigate a strange anomaly in deep space. Captain Burnham, Saru, Tilly, Stamets, and Detmer are on board. Burnham: "We must remain focused and resolute in our mission." As they approach the anomaly, the ship is suddenly hit by a massive energy wave. Saru: "This is highly illogical, Captain." Tilly: "I don't understand, everything was fine just a moment ago." Stamets: "I've never seen anything like this before. It's as if the laws of physics have been completely rewritten." Detmer: "We need to act fast, Captain. The ship's systems are failing." Burnham: "Agreed. But remember, we must remain calm and collected." As they work to stabilize the ship, the crew encounters strange visions and hallucinations. Saru: "Fascinating. These hallucinations are altering our perception of reality." Tilly: "I see things that aren't really there. It's like a bad dream." Stamets: "I can't make sense of any of this. It's like my mind is playing tricks on me." Detmer: "I must maintain my focus. The ship's safety depends on it." Burnham: "We must find a way to overcome these obstacles and complete our mission. We cannot allow ourselves to be distracted." As they continue to explore the anomaly, they encounter a powerful alien entity. Saru: "Captain, this entity is incredibly powerful. We must tread carefully." Tilly: "I'm scared, Captain. I don't know what to do." Stamets: "I'll do my best to communicate with it. Maybe we can find a peaceful resolution." Detmer: "I'll keep an eye on the ship's systems. We can't afford any more failures." Burnham: "Good work, everyone. Let's stay focused and stay the course." Despite the challenges they face, the crew of the Discovery remains stoic and unemotional. Saru: "Emotions can be a liability in a crisis. We must remain rational and logical." Tilly: "I may be scared, but I won't let it get in the way of my duties." Stamets: "I've never been good with emotions, but I can handle this. I just need to keep my wits about me." Detmer: "I'm not going to let this situation break me. I'll stay strong for the crew." Burnham: "We must not let our emotions cloud our judgment. We will see this through, together." As they work to resolve the situation, the crew of the Discovery learns the importance of remaining focused and rational in the face of adversity. Fade out.
"Spock's Brain". Gotta love Kirk's almost insane belief in his ability to do literally anything. Kirk- "Spock's brain's gone? I'll just get it back ". Bones- "How will you find it in all of the galaxy...". Kirk- "I just will ". Here's how it would go down on Voyager.... EMH- "Tuvok's brain is gone! ". Janeway- "Whelp, he's dead. Have Neelix prepare the funeral. ". (Time skip) Neelix- *Dances to "Ooobie Doobie" by Roy Orbison* Janeway- ....fuckin' Neelix. Seven-....I like it.
Dr. Phlox- "T'Pol's brain is gone! Archer- "Let's start a war with... (previously unheard of species), we'll break every convention to get it back including torture" Phlox- Captain, this is wrong! Archer- " I said do it doctor!" Hoshi over the comm- "Captain, three Klingon Birds of Prey are approaching the starboard bow" 2 seasons and a bunch of nonsense later.. The show becomes closer to TOS in tone and humor Tripp-"I'm not the one who literally lost their mind." T'Pol- "I fail to see the humor in the situation" Archer looks and Tripp and T'pol and the episode ends in TOS style laughter.
No, that cube blew up. But the BQ isn't confined to any particular body, what we saw yesterday was another backup or whatever.
"Liasons" Eric Pierpoint plays Ambassador Voval. He also plays Captain Sanders on DS9's "For The Uniform" Kortar in VOY's "Barge Of The Dead" Shiraht in ENT's "Rogue Planet" and Harris in ENT's "Affliction", "Divergence", "Demons", and "Terra Prime". But he's most famous to SF fans as Sam Francisco on the Alien Nation series. Which also starred Gary Graham who played Soval on ENT.
Bashir: "Dax's brain is gone!" Sisko: "No. It's not." *Gets a gleam in his eye and simply wills Dax's brain back into her body*
Tales From The Darkside, season 1, episode 15. Carol Kane all young and cute. *I poke my head in through a time wormhole* You're going to be girl-Scotty on the 9th Star Trek spinoff! Trust me, it'll make sense in 38 years!
On a related note, Pike's very pointed speech on fascism (complete with J6 footage) is probably why the CHUDs who screamed for a SNW spinoff have turned against that show and jizzing over PIC so damn hard.
Throw in some musical numbers and you'll have Red Garters. There's not a trailer on YouTube that I could find, but that clip shows why it'd fit (that movie's about 10 years older than TOS, and a Paramount production, so there were probably some overlaps in the crews involved). Not that I'd watch it. I hate fucking musicals. But I'm sure plenty of people would fap to it.
