TOS: Captain Spock, commanding officer, USS Enterprise Captain Hikaru Sulu, commanding officer, USS Excelsior Captain Nyota Uhura, commanding officer, USS Leondegrance Captain Montgomery Scott, no ship ever mentioned, but "Captain of Engineering" of the USS Excelsior Admiral Leonard McCoy, no ship ever mentioned but he was obviously a captain at some point in his career TNG: Captain Worf, commanding officer, USS Enterprise-E Captain William Riker, commanding officer, USS Titan Captain Beverly Crusher, commanding officer, USS Pasteur (alternate timeline) Acting Captain Data, USS Southerland Commodore Geordi LaForge, no ship ever mentioned but he was obviously a captain at some point in his career All of the above are canon. I believe Pavel Chekov was also promoted to captain of several starships in the novels and video games. I had to do a bit of digging (especially on Worf and Data) but feel free to check my homework. I win the nerd fight!
There was a blink-and-you-miss-it reference in Picard S3. He was the captain when something bad happened to the Ent-E, although the ultimate fate of the ship is still unknown.
The other night the VOY episode where the ship is buried in ice and Chuckles and Harry go back in time(?) to fix the problem was on H&I. At one point a ship captained by Geordi is pursuing them.
And that’s why I didn’t care how many times Nichelle told her MLK story. She inspired people to become astronauts and scientists. This is what we want! More scientists! More astronauts!
Nichols also recruited Ronald McNair one of the seven astronauts that died aboard the Challenger. Afterwards Nichols felt extreme guilt for his death.
It's hard for some to believe, but even through the 1990s, tv shows were still very much sexist and anti-woman. I would think in reality Jadzia would more likely have asked "marital problems chief?" then adds the second line so it looks like it's not sexist.
Star Trek: The Animated Celebration. The 50th anniversary of ST:TAS is coming up, and there's going to be promo spots of TAS style versions of Riker, Saru, and Quark voiced by their respective actors. There are supposed to be more, but these are the first three. https://trekmovie.com/2023/07/21/jo...new-star-trek-the-animated-celebration-spots/
