Courses/books on "how to kill your stepdad the moment he gets that look in his eye" are going to become popular in some states.

@Paladin is overjoyed that those slutty women will no longer be able to use the morning after pill.

Less than that. 9.768 million registered voters (as of 2022) in the 13 smallest states by voter registration. And then cut that number in half for 4.844 million.

More realistically we can exclude such rural bastions as Hawaii and Rhode Island to get the 13 smallest rural states*, half of whose registered voter population is 7.131 million. 7.131 million out of can block an amendment over 300 million want (I'll subtract a couple 10s of millions for children too). That really does seem like an out of date design, if 2.15% of the population (3.33% of registered voters) can block an amendment.

Anyone want to do the math on what % of people could have done that in past decades or centuries? Pick whatever axis of division seems appropriate for the era, not just urban/rural.

*and I'm being generous, also excluding Maine and New Hampshire.

Saw an interview with the pornstar Sylvia Sage where she says sometimes fans say to her "omigawd, I can't believe you fucked your son!" and she replies "are you kidding me? It's not real! I morning-after-ed every kid I ever could have had!".

So, yeah, this could fuck with porn.

Go read the draft opinion. Notice that not only does Alito say that abortion can't be considered a right because it's not mentioned in the Constitution, but he also points out that privacy isn't mentioned in the Constitution. That's going to fuck with a whole lotta people right there, regardless of if they've got ovaries or not.

But we should take it for granted when the party you support is doing the things they explicitly say they are going to do.

When you support and vote for anti-abortion life begins at fertilization politicians this is what they are trying to do.

A better joke for an abortion thread would have been "erections have consequences."

But that's OK, you'll get wiser and funnier after high school.

I am not a party. There is no party I agree with 100% of the time.
My support for those politicians doesn't really turn on their abortion stances. I've voted for pro-choice Republicans here in California.

I really haven’t seen anyone on the right willing to say the Alito draft decision goes too far. Turning it back to the states, some of which will enact total abortion bans with no exceptions, is perfectly ok for the Republican Party. Hard to see how that is a pro-life position.

And if that married couple doesn't want kids?
Or what if it's like on "Maude" and it's an old couple, and she's on her last change-of-life egg and it's dangerous?
