Generally speaking, Star Wars names are pretty fucking weird, or pretty fucking stupid. I think they've nailed both concepts here, so that's another win for Disney keeping it authentic.
I wonder if SW: Rogue One will begin in the same way all of the SW movies have up til now? With the scrolling down the screen description of events in the SW Galaxy in relation to the movie!
I hear that it won't. This disappoints me. I'd like all of the movies in the Star Wars series to retain the opening scroll, though they'd have to retain the John Williams theme to make it seem right. I also hope they don't do away with the "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..." card before the film.
I like that we'll see it from the planet. I was pretty sure we'd see a planet destroyed from the surface due to this from earlier trailers.
I get why they would want to make the main series films "special", but the crawl is so iconic that it's going to feel weird without it, especially given how it has appeared in the vast majority of spinoff media. When we were working on Force Unleashed, it was a major "EVERYONE COME LOOK AT THIS!" moment in the office when the opening crawl was put in for the game, people crowded around the station to watch it scrolling by for the first time.
I hope they at least do something that's the new signature for the anthologies, instead of just diving in after the Lucasfilm logo.
Me too! ROGUE ONE really should have BOTH the "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..." card before the film, AND the scroll down description of events at the beginning of the picture.
Biggs and Porkins! http://makingstarwars.net/2016/11/b...s-story-pops-spotted-in-assert-charity-video/
I think it's a pretty safe bet, though R2 doesn't need to be there, but likely will be and probably C-3PO.
I just want the movie to end with captain antilles getting the data stream and turning to a marvel movie de aged Carrie Fisher. We have the plans. But there's a star destroyer giving chase. Leia nods. We will never make it alderan. set your course for tattooine. We need the help from an old friend. Credits.
